Battle Of The Eye Shadow Shields!
I am a makeup enthusiast and am quite adventurous. Therefore, I need different shapes of shields for different looks. If you only have one makeup look, you will only need one type of shield. Hopefully, this will help you narrow it down.Photo 1 shows the 3 types of shields I have purchased from Amazon. The top shield is this particular product. It is the large, as you can see in photo 2. I prefer this one for my looks that are smoked out on both my top lid and bottom lash line. It provides a guideline for smoking out the bottom, as well as my outer corners. Hence, it truly does extend to my brow area. I read one review that said she cut her shield in half. If you have a smaller face or do not really extend your shadow outward, I am sure this would work. Rather than having 100 sets, you would have 200!This shield is great for a more elongated and/or Fox eye look. The middle shield in photo 1, is used for more of a doe eyed look. It really allows for smoking out the bottom lash, with the perfect curve every time. It also extends far enough to the outer eye corner to serve as a guideline for your top lid shadows, but does not touch the brow area. Regardless, it works well and is actually my fave of the 3. It gives more of a rounder and bigger eye look, like Bambi. It is also perfect for those that like to really work that inner corner to the Gods. The shape is perfect for that crisp dramatic look. The bottom shield is really best for a winged liner or for those who concentrate most of their efforts on the outer edge of the eye and require sharper lines. . Note, it will not cover the entire cheek area, inner corner and the outer eye simultaneously. With this shield, you have to place it specifically in one area. If you are only concerned with fall out, it does cover the entire cheek area, when placed directly under the eye.Adhesive – All of the shields I use have strong adhesive. It is not a hinderance, because I am just shy of a senior citizen and really moisture and prep my eye area well. You want it to stick and not fall off, as soon as your brush touches it. You can also just tap the sticky side on the back of your hand a couple times before application, to reduce the stickiness or add extra powder, as a barrier. After removal, I rarely have any makeup disturbance. However, out of habit, I use whatever powder is left in my brush from setting my concealer, and tap it over the area where the adhesive was placed. Oh, I forgot to mention that I only remove the top half of the adhesive. I never remove the bottom piece. I would never find that necessary for any of the shields that I own.Value – This is definitely a great value. You literally receive twice the quantity, of my aforementioned fav shield, for the same cost. The bottom shield is the least expensive of the 3 types, but it does not serve as many functions. So, I conclude that in the case of shields, one size does not fit all!

Can also be used for nail design
These are vary large but I find that to be a bonus. I personally just wanted them to make sure my eye makeup had a crisp edge where it wings out, so I cut them in half and use one shield for both eyes. If you don’t cut them in half, they are great for preventing eyeshadow fallout under the eyes.I highly recommend only removing the upper portion of the backing, that’s plenty of adhesive to keep it in place on the face. They stick very well, and a few reviewers stated it felt like it was going to rip off their skin. I used caution the first time using them and stuck them to the back of my hand a few times to reduce the stickiness slightly and it still stuck to my face, but didn’t hurt to take them off so I would suggest that method.I really don’t like waste, so I also used them a second time but as nail strips instead. I cut the part off that had eye makeup on it and cut the larger bottom portion with the backing still on. That way I could cut the strips without it sticking to my scissors and peel the back off after. In this case, them being very sticky was a plus. They are a great price and I foresee them lasting me a long time. I was able to use one shield to do my eye makeup and design my nails!

Adhesive is a little too strong but value is great.
These work fairly well to prevent fallout when applying eye looks and also can be used in order to achieve a crisp even edge on your outer corner or for eyeliner. It adheres a little too well for your sensitive eye area so what I did is place the patch on the back of my hand and unstick it a couple times before using under eye. This stops it from sticking too well to the skin and won’t be as rough on your face when removing.

    I’d Recommend!
Overall these are very large. To truly put these under my eyes the way they are supposed to be- it doesn’t work. It goes on the side of your nose or in your hair depending which way has the excess material. However, I have found if you cut them in half and use the halves for each side works great! It’s perfect for a guide for winged liner, and smoking out your shadow into a nice sharp line. The adhesive is very strong so be careful! You don’t want to put these straight away on your face, otherwise it will pull your sensitive undereye skin too much. I put it on my hand first, pull it off, and do it again. Then put it under the eyes. It still sticks and stays in place, but won’t hurt your skin. Overall, they work great, and you get a lot for your money! They will last me a long time.

    Be careful removing these
These are incredibly adhesive, to a fault. I had moisturizer on my skin so it wasn’t a dry surface prior to applying these and holy stick Batman, they hurt when they came off. I’d liken it to wax. If you do purchase them, I’d highly recommend de-sticking a bit first because it could cause broken capillaries (seriously) otherwise. Plus sides are the package comes with a ton of these shields and when properly placed it does help with fallout. I’d recommend doing your eye makeup prior to foundation with these because it will remove it otherwise.

    Sticky! Finally
Bought several different kinds of these. I am awful at eye shadow and no matter how hard I try…it always ends up on the sides of my eyes. These little pads are great! Easy to peel off after and super sticky. I get a clean line ever time! Very happy!!

Stuck together, almost half unusable, jammed in box.
Almost half of these were stuck together. I’m assuming that was due to the fact that they seemed JAMMED in a plain white box. No bag or anything of the sort to contain them. I get that they’re cheap…but like, they’re pretty simple things. They should be cheap. It’s like someone grabbed a fistful and just shoved them into a small, flat box. Can’t use almost half of them. They’re all stuck together in cluster. Oh well.

Consigliatissimi.

Good idea especially if your not great at eyeshadow with shakey hands so this a great idea for sharp edged looks.
