Excellent product
I’ve had one of these for years, got tired of shuffling it between my computer bag, home and camping gear so just ordered 2 more.Pros:++ Small tweezers and its little ‘tube’ case make it a convenient companion in ANY situation++ Pin-point tips have always been able to confidently snag and remove any splinter, tine, etc++ The tips are strong++ No rust, metal fatigue or any other evidence of wear / age after years of useCons:++ If you have nasty cactus tines in your skin you’ll need larger, separate pliers to remove ’em++ Largely “fit for purpose” for removing splintersMy last point underscores my perception that this product is best suited, for the most part, to remove splinters, et al. I have several other forms of tweezers for home / hobby use and have never considered using these as an alternative, given its small size. Having said *that*, I’m not really complaining since I bought this pair of tweezers precisely for its excellent utility in removing splinters. Regarding my point about needing pliers, its worth noting that cactus tines (e.g., from Cholla cactus) can be large and deep, and though I hope you never experience this yourself if you get such tines embedded in your skin you’ll need heavier tools (e.g., a Leatherman pliers) to extract them. These tweezers w/b would then be useful for little bits left behind (ouch!).

The best for splinters
I’ve been using these for splinters for many years I keep pairs in all my cars and at home, they work great

Compact and well made
I needed a good quality pair of tweezers for my first aid kits. This product is compact and is fine enough for slivers. Should be good for tick removal although I have still plucked them by hand. The protective case is a plus to prevent them from puncturing other items in my kit.

Best tweezers ever!

Works!
I lost a pair of these and replaced them. These are the best tweezers to get wood slivers out I have ever used. The sharp points allow you to pull the tiniest sliver out.

A Must for Woodsmen
Great tool for woodcutters & metal workers. Tweezer tip is fine for those hair splinters & metal slivers one seems to always get around the shop or wood pile. The tube that came with this item can double as a container to put a bit of disinfectant in to sterilize the tweezers. The size is good to include in a car bag kit. This item doesn’t have the key chain attachment included. Recommend it strongly for inclusion in a first aid kit where space is a premium. BTW; I’ve seen the key chain model carried on our Military member’s dog-tag neck chains overseas.22APR2013: Had to buy another because of friends begging for it! Great small box stuffers for those giving out gifts. This one came requiring fining up the point. Used wet/dry paper om a popsicle stick. This is the keyring model.Hangs on work ring without taking up space. Like I poseted before; great for splinters but not for deep wound frag removal.

Not as accurate as expected
I have been looking for a good pair of tweezers for a while and after reading some reviews I purchased this pair. I was happy that I was able to buy it with my hsa/fsa card. The tweezers seem to only meet at the very tip of the point, so to get tiny hairs you must be able to accurately grab the hair at that specific point. This is extremely difficult for me even when I am using a 20x magnifying makeup mirror. Several times I missed the hair and instead grabbed a tiny piece of skin and now I have several little spots of blood from my failed attempts.I don’t know if my tweezers are defective.

Mixed feelings.
Reading the other reviews I was skeptical since no one seems to take any photos. Ordering a new set ( I had sent my old one with my youngest son as he left last week with a new first aid kit). I will try and demonstrate their quality1. Yes the metal is thinner and it is not as robust as my previous set ( I should have comparison pics but my old set is in another state, sorry folks)2. It will grab hair and splinters IF you grab it near the triangular end where the jaws are.3. It does not say Made In USA anywhere on the piece like my other.4. The triangular edges are not smooth and look almost as if they were cut? easily fixed but rather disappointing.5. Pressing the ends together will bend them outward, unlike the previous set.6. Points are sharp and will dig into your skin for splinters, again you will need to grab them at the triangular ends.I hope the photos clear up some of the issues, in my opinion they work fine. Are they as easy to work with like the older sets, no. I am somewhat saddened that yet another great piece of kit seems to have fallen short of bombproof like many of us want, however they do work so I have mixed feelings. Wether or not they do well after storage may be variable, the new storage container snaps shut easier but is less robust and I expect it to fail due to being squished while in a pack etc. I did not get the keychain version bc I felt the points would be damaged as I would expect in time.

Le must de la pince à écharde. Utilisée à plusieurs reprises : efficacité redoutable. A tel point que ma grande fille chez qui ce type de pinces a beaucoup servi dans son enfance m’en a demandé une pour elle.
