    Okay
If you like old movies, you may like this. And if you watch movies from the 60s you pretty much know what to expect. I does move along at a good pace. I think some of the actors were known in the day, but I had never heard of them. Anyway, I found the acting pretty hammy. I won’t go into the plot but it was moderately entertaining even though it was not very plausible. One example, two men on a train argue and one throws the other off the moving train. Later, the police corner the suspect in an old barn. Just when the bad guy is about to get away, who shows up but the man who was thrown off the train. Hmm. Better to not ask how he survived the fall or how he just happened to pick out that particular barn at that particular moment.

    Confusing, Uneven, But Worth Watching
Confusing, Uneven, But Surprisingly WatchableReleased in 1960, THE HAND is the strange tale of three comrades who are captured and tortured during World War II. Fifteen years later a down-on-his luck London man is found dead with one of his hands amputated—and the doctor who performed the surgery has committed suicide. Inspector Munyard (Ronald Leigh-Hunt) sets out to unravel the mystery only to find the story increasingly confusing as it goes along. He is not alone: the audience will find it confusing too. Even so, THE HAND is unexpectedly watchable, partly due to its short run time of about an hour, partly due to a fast pace, a noir-ish quality, and better than average acting. Directed by Henry Cass, the film also features Derek Bond, Reed De Rouen, Reginald Hearne, and Madeleine Burgess. THE HAND isn’t really a film worth hunting out, but if it comes your way by accident, it is worth watching.GFT, Amazon Reviewer

This wasn’t bad. I bought it thinking that it was a horror movie that I had seen years ago, but it wasn’t. It is about some prisoners of war who each have a hand amputated by the enemy. Years later there are murders being committed and the murders are connected to the prisoners of war. This is a classic movie so there are no modern special effects.
