Works Well But Incredibly Expensive For What You Get
This hair straightener arrived quickly and well packaged with no damage incurred in transit. The product packaging box is relatively attractive and clearly labeled, with the contents nicely secured in and under the velvet brushed foam insert. Aside from the straightener there is a heat resistant glove, soft cinch storage bag, and instruction manual. The manual does include all the pertinent information about the device from how to use its various features to how you should store for it. The straightener does have unique 3D floating titanium plates which according to the girls, does work well to minimize the about of resistance/pulling you may typically encounter with your average device. It comes with 12 preset heat options to choose from by simply using the (+) or (-) symbols on the left inner side of the tool. The specific temperatures are; 240*, 260*, 280*, 300*, 320*, 340*, 360*, 370*, 390*, 410*, 430*, and 450*. The tool heats up very quickly and you can easily distinguish when it has reached temp as the numbers on the display screen go from red to a white. It does show the numbers going up as it heats up as well, so you would easily be able to determine if it is nearly to temperature or not. The heat does appear to be evenly distributed across the plate and they said that it seems to be fairly accurate to other flat irons that they have used. It does do a good job of straightening their hair, leaving it silky soft with no fizziness. It can also be used to produce curls and seems to be effective with those as well. They said it is easy to hold and maneuver, and it doesn’t cause any hand fatigue. On the bottom right side of the tool is a locking feature which is very useful for when you are done using it or traveling so it doesn’t pop open. It also has a swivel cord on the bottom that helps to prevent the cord getting tangled while using it. The price point for this is insanely high, significantly higher than some of the other nice name brand ones I’ve bought for them in the past. At this price point I can honestly say I expected more, and I’m not even the one using it. The included storage bag should’ve been an actual hard case, which would’ve allowed for a durable and safe storage space that is also ideal for travel. The heat resistant glove is also nothing special, though I honestly don’t think the girls ever use them and found it to be a wasted addition. Overall, this is a really nice straightener that offers a range of preset heat options to choose from allowing you to select the best heat level for your hair type, but the current price of $229.99 seems outrageous for what you get especially when I know I’ve bought them nice ones for around $100-$150. Would recommend if the price came down.

The saying goes “You get what you pay for”, and the SRI StyleQ Straightener is like the Cadillac of hair straighteners. I got this for my daughter, who has really long colored hair. She just recently had about 3 inches of split ends trimmed off the bottom due to the use of hot styling tools. She has been using this straightener every day for about 3 weeks and her hair has never looked so healthy, glossy and polished looking. She said her hair just glides through the plates just once and her hair looks amazing. There is no problem with hair pulling, tugging and resulting in any frizz. Initially, all you have to find is the correct temperature to use, but with 12 heat settings, there are many choices that should work with your hair texture.
