3M Scotch Brite Dobie scrubbers are THE BEST. My mom used them while I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. I’ve tried others as an adult, and I always go back to these! Now I just order them in bulk. I’ve used them in my kitchen for scrubbing everything, used them on camping trips on grills and more, even taken them on trips where I know I’ll have to clean items in the kitchen – I want the good scrubbers! I’ve taken a box to our vacation house for us owners to use when we are there too.What I like about them is that they scrub well without damaging! The netting around the sponge allows me to scrub hard and get food debris off, but it doesn’t scratch anything (unless it breaks or around the edges where it is sealed). The sponge inside holds lots of soap, and I usually leave it soapy when I’m done, let it dry on the edge of my sink, and when I’m ready to use it again, I just run it under hot water and it’s soapy again! I love having a bulk pack of them so I can throw them away when they are gunky and grab a fresh one. I won’t ever use another scrubber!

These are my favorite sponges to use. They are durable and don’t fall apart easily. They’ve got a good scrub to them that isn’t too rough. Best of all I’ve used these for years and never once gotten that gross sponge smell!

I don’t use metal on my pans, I don’t want to take whatever kind of finish it has off (steel wool scrapes the metal, and even if you only use stainless steel, the nickel will leach into your food; alumium will regardless, so it’s taboo in my house). Hubby and I had wars where he would buy steel wool pads and I’d throw them out the door. The plastic on these pads is thick enough that it acts as an abrasive, and it actually works really well on most stuck on food as long as you soak the pans first. I put it into the dishwasher to be cleaned whenever I run it and simply rinse well when I take it out (because the sponge retains water, as sponges do). Using these pads were one of the few takeaways from my (first) marriage. 😉

Though a bit more costly than the cheaper imitators, the durability and quality are well worth the extra money. They last and take cleaning abuse for many repeat uses. I always go back to them. A great product.

Better than a sponge
I bought these to replace those sponge/abrasive things that you find in the grocery store. I was unhappy because the sponges would break down and leave tiny pieces of blue sponge all over the place. These pads show no sign of deterioration and clean better than the old sponges. I still toss them after two weeks of hard use ( no dishwasher ) but they still look good.

Whilst travelling in Japan in March ’23, I bought some netted sponges. They are quite thick (2cm) and a good size (8cm x 15cm) and I’ve not seen an equivalent here in Australia. I tried to find an equivalent on Amazon, but nothing quite matched. However, there were some great reviews of the Dobie Pads and so I bought a 6×2 pack. They are great scourers for use on pans and pots.The Japanese sponges come out fresh from the washing machine, the Dobie’s not quite so much. I admit, I use them harder on the pans, but still hoped for a little more. This means the will probably last less before being tossed. It would be great if they were slightly larger as well.

It’s so hard to find a sponge that is gentle on stainless steel pots and pans but still works. These sponges are great! They are tough enough to scrub off cooked on foods but gentle that they don’t scratch.
