The curling iron rotates right or left with a button press.It heats up really quickly. And the barrel is smooth. However the arm does not clamp down evenly, so as you try to slide hair to the tip so it all curls, it will slide through.And the rotation, takes longer than just spinning it by hand. But it is effortless, you just press the button once you have figured out which one is correct for the direction you want to spin your hair in.
