I purchased this Rosemary Apple Cider Tonic & Scalp Massager with Clarifying Ingredients for Dry, Flaky Scalp, Vegan & Cruelty-Free, 5 oz (Set of 2) because I’ve read how doing an apple cider vinegar rinse can help to close up the hair cuticle, which in turn makes your hair smoother, shinier, and healthier altogether. Rather than trying to make my own homemade mixture I went online to see what options might be available, found this tonic, and decided to give it a try. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks and my hair has consistently been soooo much softer, smoother, and bouncier. I just wash my hair with sulfate free shampoo, apply this tonic to my hair (also using a wide tooth comb to pull it evenly through to the ends of my hair), I then rinse that out, apply my conditioner which I also comb into my hair and try to let sit in there for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. I use a little leave in conditioner afterwards and that’s it. I can confidently say, this stuff has improved my hair health remarkably and I love it!

I have been dealing with build-up that has become constant and more like seborrheic dermatitis that will turn into sores if I try to exfoliate it off my scalp. I had tried “calm scalp” and it helped, but it was more treatment than preventative and had a strong vinegar scent that took a bit to dissipate.
In addition to that, it was feeling impossible to condition my hair in a way if felt smooth and didn’t tangle when I moved. I have straight, THICK, hair down past my waist (top of butt crack really) and I was afraid something was changing that was gonna lead to having to cut my hair or even hair loss (family history of alopecia).
Doctor said allergies, changed my shampoo and conditioners to their recommended and no changes. Spent a lot of time exfoliating my scalp, carefully washing and drying my hair, not using anything that potentially added to my scalp. But a day or two and my scalp was a wreck again.
We have HARD water. Everything in our shower is coated in white from the lime. We haven’t been able to add a filter due to the type of plumbing currently installed and it wasn’t my first thought about my scalp and hair until my aunt pointed out the difference in her hair/skin when she washed it in hard VS soft water.
ONE USE AND IT WAS MAGICAL. My scalp was so clear. No build up, no crumblies, no flakes, no sores, no itching. And it smelt wonderful. The rosemary and mint were refreshing, small vinegar hint but does not bother me at all. AND MY HAIR WAS REVIVED! Smooth, shiny, tame, no rough patches, and I didn’t use any other shampoo or conditioner in that wash. I managed to get about two and a half rinses from the bottle and I may have used more than needed in the first one. I am subscribing to this and only this because of the magic it provided me and saved my scalp and hair.

The scrub will not come out.
I love the scent of the oil and it feels nice on my scalp. I only have used them both twice, however upon the second use of the scalp scrub, the product will not come out. It’s like it is too thick for the opening with all the little beads and it just will not come out of its container. I’m considering just cutting it open and putting it into something else that is easier to use like an empty jar, but it’s disappointing I even have to do that. The oil also did not seem to be filled completely upon arrival.

The best Vegan and Cruelty Free all-in-one scalp exfoliator? With a few missing instructions
First I would like to say I love this scalp tonic!
I have oily hair as I workout very frequently and my hair gets sweaty pretty quickly, because of that reason I started investing in pre-shampoo exfoliates and a few years ago there was very little options in the market. I made my own first using apple cider vinegar and I thought that would be enough to lessen the greasy cow-licked hair of mine after 3 days of washed hair, but dandruff and oiliness persisted.
I then started looking into the products and at the time like I said there was very few and I chose Brieogeo products because they were the best on the market at that time. I used their scalp revival line and it was great, but as I started to learn about my scalp, I realized that although I was cleansing my scalp there was still oil from the pre-shampoo and other products in my hair that kept weighing my hair down.
When I found this scalp cleaner I instantly purchased it and was excited to try it because I saw all of the good ingredients for oily/dry scalp that I did not find in other products for less than half of the price of what I used before. Niacinamide was the one that surprised me the most because I know that niacinamde is a great molecule that controls sebum/oil production. I couldn’t find that in other hair care products I have personally used so that was an instant plus.
I love all the features it has; vegan + cruelty free, rosemary helps with hair growth, acids to exfoliate/hydrate and peppermint to help soothe the scalp; its basically an all-in-one. Now I use it frequently and it has suppressed the oil production so much that I clean my hair only once a week.
2 things I can say about the product is that when they say “Skip the shampoo!..” its misleading the consumer. The bottle should state the importance follow up with a shampoo so that the acids and other ingredients are not left in your scalp because it may irritate your scalp. Another thing is that this may not be safe for color treated hair because there is a ton of stronger acids in here that may lighten your hair as another consumer said in their review.
