Perfect for bleached hair
I bought the coloring conditioner in the shade Vibrant Pink. I had bleached my hair between the levels 8-10. My virgin hair was originally a level 1 (dark brown, almost black). So while the color obviously didn’t show on my virgin roots, it deposited color very well on my bleached hair.My hair length reaches the middle of my back. I had to use an entire tub. I think for a more even application, I would have needed 1 tub plus at least 1/4 of a second tub. Be mindful of applying product on the back of your head. I neglected that area so while the color did show up, it was peachier and less pink than the front strands of hair that I could easily see and reach. The gloves provided in the box absolutely suck – they’re thin and come apart easily and have holes in the sides which defeat the purpose of protecting your hands and render them useless. Luckily I have a stash of disposable latex gloves. You will absolutely need them to protect your hands from getting stained. Immediately wipe surfaces if product splashes onto it. Small amounts of product lightly stained my white bathtub pink. Not the end of the world but something to be mindful of.Application is fairly easy. The consistency of the conditioner is like a goopy cream. It doesn’t drip so it’s easy to apply, but because it’s thick it’s hard to spread. This is why you have to use a lot of product to cover a lot of surface area.Any coloring product will smell unpleasant. This conditioner has a mint fragrance in it that attempts to cover up the unpleasant chemical smell. It makes it more bearable. Some people have stated that the smell is like toothpaste. I think it’s like a combination of chemicals and toothpaste. If you have sensitive skin like me, do a patch test on an inconspicuous area like behind your ear. Or apply a thin layer of Vaseline on the skin touching your hairline, including your temples, behind the ears, and your neck. For more protection, apply Saran Wrap on top of the Vaseline. I’m pretty lazy though and applied it directly to my hair and scalp, being mindful of not letting the product touch too much of my skin. My application wasn’t perfect so small areas of my skin had product on it. Those areas, plus my scalp, became slightly itchy and red. The itchiness disappeared a few hours after washing my hair out.I applied the product and loosely clipped it up with a large hair claw, then sat in a bath for about 40 minutes while watching videos to pass the time. The instructions say to leave it in for much less time. I don’t think 5-15 minutes will make a significant difference and will likely result in wasted product. I highly recommend leaving it on for at least 30 minutes, max 45-60 minutes.Rinsing out the product with water was easy. Took maybe a good minute to get it out. Although your scalp and hair strands will feel slightly heavy and sticky due to the deposited color afterwards, I highly discourage people from washing their hair with shampoo and following up with a separate conditioner. Shampoo and conditioners can make the color bleed out more. Everytime you wash with even just water, color will bleed. After first time application, just rinse with cool water, dry, and style, then use dry shampoo to avoid washing your hair often. This will prolong the life of the color. When the hair is wet, the color looked like a deep pink/light red. When fully dry, the color is a beautiful and soft pink, with a shade somewhere in between cotton candy and pastel pink. It’s not actually too vibrant, despite its name. This was exactly the color I was going for though. After reading reviews on the pastel pink conditioner, which were very abysmal, I’m glad I went with vibrant pink instead. With 1-2 washes, the color gradually fades into a beautiful and subtle rose gold. With 3-4 washes, the color is almost gone. With subsequent washes, the color is entirely gone. If you wash hair every two days while relying on dry shampoo in between washes, you can expect the color to last for about a week.If you want to maintain the pink, you’ll have to wash hair even less and/or reapply product every few washes. At $32 a tub for about a week’s worth of color, it’s pricey and not very financially sustainable. Knowing this, I bought the color just to have one week’s worth of a final hurrah before I’d permanently dye my hair back to black. I had fun while it lasted and I have no regrets!I have not tried other colors in this product line so I can’t speak on their quality. This product did its job and I was happy with the results. I’d recommend this to anyone with hair bleached to levels 8 or above looking for a week’s worth of a whimsical and feminine color.

Very effective!
My greys were so bright white and my formerly black ends were getting brassy. I wanted to tone down the brightness a bit and for my ends to match my roots. I left Extreme Silver in my hair for an hour and rinsed it out with cool water. I feel like my hair looks more uniform now and is so shiny. The greys are still present but not as starkly bright as before. I love that it conditioned my hair and smells so good! I am a peppermint lover so this is just perfect. My husband even commented on how minty my hair was. I’m thrilled that this will fade over time and will not damage my hair. This product is perfect for toning natural grey hair! Blends the greys, softens, and adds shine. 5/5 I will definitely be repurchasing.

Changed formulation?
Iâve been using the Ginger Coloring Conditioner for a while and reordered the same product Iâd ordered several times before. The new one was called âGinger Glow treatment maskâ I checked that it was the same sku and just assumed that they changed the name. I got halfway through my hair with the old jar of Ginger, and when I popped open the new jar, was surprised to see that it appeared to be a completely different formulation and color. Too late to turn back, I finished the rest of my hair with âGinger Glowâ. The Ginger Glow didnât seem to be as vibrant as the original formulation.

Super easy to use and effective
I recently got a red tint on my natural black hair which faded in a month. My hair dresser recommended oVertone and it I love it. Did my first refresh this week and it was so easy to apply the conditioner. And because itâs a color depositing conditioner it my hair was very soft and moisturized after rinsing the product out. Love the mild mint essence of the product as well. Definitely recommend if youâre trying to refresh your red again

Chocolate Brown — very light + SUN WARNING
I let my formerly naturally auburn colored hair finally go grey during the pandemic, after coloring it for decades! I thought silver or salt & pepper would look cool. However, my “grey” hair turned out to be a yellowy gold, which I HATE. I tried “purple” shampoos to cool it down, but it didn’t work. Paid $35 for a hairdresser to apply toner to it, and that washed out within a couple of weeks. I stumbled across these semi-permanent colors, and I figured this was a low risk endeavor. I was right about that. I used the chocolate brown color application. The 8oz tub worked for two applications, so for $32, I like the value. It definitely conditioned my hair — it was nice and soft and shiny. There were a few caveats: It did NOT make my hair chocolate brown. I left it in for 30 minutes, and it wound up looking more golden-brown, which is actually VERY pretty. I got a lot of compliments. Here’s the other, unfortunate caveat: the sun makes it fade to PINK. Mind you, I’m adventurous and don’t mind, but I figured I’d warn people. The color washes out in about 2 weeks (I wash my hair 3 times a week), and as it does, it gets blonde highlights/streaks, which don’t look bad — very natural — but again, there was also some pink tint to it as well.

Love the color, had to apply to wet hair to work
I’ve read mixed things but for me I guess I need to apply it to my wet hair while I am taking a shower.First time I applied it to my dry BLEACHED hair for like an hour VERY meticulously and generously and it didn’t take the color in too much, which was disappointing. I wasted 1/2 the tub doing this and I really sad with that result so I decided to try a different way the next time after reading other reviews. The second time, I applied it to my wet hair for 30 mins while I was in the shower with just my hands with gloves and got this result in the picture and now that is the way I always apply it. âºï¸

I have dark brown/almost black Asian hair thatâs natural on top and had been ombre bleached and dyed purple at the bottom. This conditioner worked wonders after my original purple had washed out, and the colour lasted way longer (3+ weeks? and this is without using Overtoneâs recommended daily conditioner) than my original dye job did. The immediate colour is quite a vibrant dark purple on my bleached hair, but after about 10 washes starts to fade into a nice lighter purple shade mixed with some brown that starts to show through. On my natural dark hair, the purple appears as a subtle tinge thatâs mainly visible under direct light/sunlight. I have mid-length, thin hair so the entire jar lasted me about 4 applications over the course of mid-October to start of Jan. Would recommend to those with lightened/lighter hair as a great way to try out fun colours! Those with totally dark hair, itâll be a subtle look – plenty of video reviews on youtube will give you an idea of what to expect!
