Good product in general, wish they would simplify / reduce ingredients and get more natural. Product holds well and washes out fine, not shiny and scent is good but not overwhelming.

Perfect Matte hair paste
I have tried several different hair pastes over the years. This is by far my favorite, even over more expensive brands from the barbershop. It has a nice medium hold, meaning your hair will stay in place but if you through on a hat it doesn’t feel like your hair is being ripped out when it’s moved. Also, the finish looks natural and not greasy.

Not a replacement for American Crew, have to choose between hold and softness
My goal was to find a replacement for the American Crew Pomade that I’ve used for years, as the price has kept creeping up. If you’re looking for the same, look elsewhere.First and foremost, on the plus side, this product is a great deal. The price is lower and you need to use a lot less each day, so it lasts longer.But what I’ve found after using it for several weeks is that I have to make a choice. I can use a little less and my hair doesn’t get crunchy and it washes out easily, but the hold is not enough, and I have all these little stray hairs sticking up. Or I can use a little more, get adequate hold, but then my hair feels hard to the touch and it takes two shampooing to get it all out the next morning.I’ll live with it for this batch, but I’ll continue my quest for an American Crew replacement after that.

This pomade smells great and works really well with slicking hair back or down and to the side. It holds decent when putting it up as well It doesn’t make hair look wet and shiny either which is essential to me.Decently priced too.

I recommend Layrite over this. It smells better and has a better hold.
