I LOVE the Food for Soft line but…
I love Matrix Food for Soft. I use both the shampoo and the conditioner. It makes my curly, fine, long hair soft, manageable and beautiful. It has a wonderful scent. I have received compliments on the scent. HOWEVER, if you are allergic to hyaluronic acid, it could cause a break out. I can always tell if I do not rinse my hair thoroughly because the base of my head/scalp begins to itch. My son tried this and the remnants of the conditioner that were left on his skin/body caused him to break out in terrible hives on the back of his arms and legs, so just be aware. My sister used another brand that contained hyaluronic acid and she broke out on her back. Just be sure to thoroughly rinse your hair and body and you should be fine. I am good when I do this.

Great conditioner, solid packaging
The product itself is thick and creamy but easy to squeeze out of the dispenser top (no clogs so far). Easy to spread through long hair, leaving your hair super soft. It doesn’t make your hair greasy but is on the heavier side of the conditioner spectrum so apply accordingly. Smell is lovely and light, comes in quality packaging and the product shipment materials ensured it didn’t arrive spilled, damaged or opened.

Perfect for white (or gray) hair
My hair is naturally white, thanks to genes for early onset gray hair. It was a coppery brown before it went totally white when I was 37. I’m now 56 and started using Matrix Food for Soft conditioner after my new hair stylist recommended it specifically because my hair is white and very fine. If you don’t know, white (and gray) hair is typically extremely dry and very difficult to manage. I was sold the very first time I used it. I can’t tell you how well this conditioner works for dry, fine, white hair. It’s pretty expensive, but not much more than what I had been using (some version of argon oil stuff), and it is well worth the price. Plus, the 10 ounce bottle lasted twice as long as any other conditioner I’ve ever used because I only need a small amount and only need to put it in my hair once during my shower. Every other brand I’ve used I’ve had to condition my hair twice in the shower…welcome to my white hair nightmare. Basically, this is the only thing that has softened my hair in almost 20 years. I will never use anything else for my hair.
