The brush heads are not very thick, they are finer but soft . The handles are made of wood, black with a rose gold trim. This set includes a brush for almost every task in applying makeup, so I find that it is a well rounded set offering a variety of solutions for different applications. There is a combination of larger and smaller brushes that are all very comfortable to hold.The brushes washed nicelywith a mild face wash and I laid them out to dry. I did not experience any fall out with the brush fibers.The brushes are small enough where they can be comfortably packed and portable for on the go use.The application of foundation with the flat angled brush was decent and the concealer brush i found worked well in applying face powder under the eyes for baking.I found the sellers listing to be very informative with explaining the types of brushes and their intended uses. The pictures and care instructions are very useful, and the kit came with a brush explanation cardand brushes were individually wrapped.Tho it is a great value for 16 brushes for beginners, but certainly not professional brush quality.
