WORKS AS ADVERTISED! BEST ON THE MARKET!
I used this product to scrub down my old oak kitchen cabinets before painting them. This product worked wonderfully to remove any old grease or dirt from my kitchen cabinets. I did my entire kitchen with this product and I still have some left over, so a little goes a long way! I’ll include a few before and after photos so that the viewers can see how well this product worked for me. After applying this product and drying it, I waited 24 hours before I began painting my kitchen cabinets, and the outcome was amazing. This product does scuff up the old wood enough that it helps with holding the new fresh paint! This product saved me a lot of time as I did not need to use sandpaper. A little bit of scrubbing it into the wood with a clean dry cloth and this product did the job for me. Overall, I give this product a perfect 5 stars! Save yourself some work and get this product. “See before and after photos.” I highly recommend this product to my family and friends.

    Seemed to work
I needed to clean a brush I use for treated lumber sealer and the packaging didn’t indicate what to use for cleanup, I figure I’m covered for anything with this since it works on water or oil base. It’s also biodegradable, which I usually take to mean it doesn’t work, but this stuff actually worked, easy to use, no smelly strong chemicals.

    Cleans the filthiest brushes!
I’ve used this on brushes covered in both latex and oil based paint. I’ve soaked brushes in it that are dried and hard that I forgot about for days at a time. It cleans everything! I just pour it into a plastic cup and stand the brush in it, then wash it out after a day. I even put this stuff on my auto ship when I was renovating the house.

getting 18 soaks from a quart
After 35 years, there was probably some dried paint in the heels of my favorite brushes. I bought a quart of Krud Kutter because any dried paint will impair a good brush. If I had a round can just big enough for my 4” brush, I’d need a quart to fill it to the ferrule. I’ve seen it advertised at $14 a quart. That could cost more than a new brush. In the 1980s I made a box to soak my 4” brush with only a little paint thinner. I used two fat nails for pins near the top of my plywood back. They would support the box on the shoulders of a hanging brush. If I tore two holes near the top of a sandwich bag, I could put the brush in the bag and hang the bag on the nails. The side pieces slope because a paint brush tapers from heel to toe. The bottom piece has a groove to catch the bottom edge of the masonite cover. I ground a slot in the cover so I could see the level of the paint thinner in the bag. Each side piece has a staple so I can slide a wire through to hold the cover against the brush to keep the bag from bulging. It takes 50 ml to fill the bag to the ferrule, so I a quart would let me soak the brush 18 times with 40 ml to spare.I let the brush soak in Krud Kutter for 48 hours. It felt pretty good before, and I think it felt better afterward. The cleaner had turned milky. Next time, I may let it soak a week.I won’t need Krud Kutter often. When I use latex paint, I wash and comb my brushes, wash the plastic paint pail, put in a couple of teaspoons of washing soda and a few drops of dish liquid, fill it to the brim, and add the brushes. In a day or two, the soda will loosen any paint I didn’t wash out of the brushes or the pail.Acetone may be the best stuff to soften a lot of hard paint. It won’t harm nylon, polyester, or polyethylene bag. It’s pretty expensive, and it evaporates fast in an open can. If I ever need it, I’ll use a box.A box to soak my smaller brush won’t need to be as stiff. I may make one with corrugated paper, cement, and rubber bands.

You’ll need a rig for your brush
Lets face it I’ve never been able to get my paint brushes clean after using with latex paint. This product works great at rescuing old brushes and cleaning them right after using. For soaking you’ll need a rig of some sort to keep the brush upright and the metal band out of the cleaner. I picked up a quart container with lid at my local home supply store, cut a few slits in the top and voila. As for cleaning recently used brushes about a 1/3-1/2 cup of cleaner in a container of your choosing, swish, mush and tap out the excess. Use a shop towel, rag, newspaper or paper towels to remove the excess and rinse in warm water until it runs cleaner. Again remove the excess water and hang to dry bristles down. I don’t know how well this cleaner works with rollers but I could see it doing a good job but you’ll most like have to do a bit of prep work to your rollers by getting as much of the paint out as possible. You might also end up using a lot of the cleaner for rollers. Great product works as advertised. I’ll definitely purchase again, just need to find a bigger container of it as I have a lot of home painting projects lined up.

    Not for OB Stain
This did not work well for an oil based stain. brushed were not “cleaned” after using this….they had to be thrown away.
