Beatle -maniacs
I have always loved this movie and have been waiting a long time for it to come out on Blu-ray. My favorite character is and always will be the girl who was going to elope on the same night the Beatles were making their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan show until she reluctantly agreed to go with some of her friends to New York and try to get into The Beatles hotel room. The irony is she was the only one who did get into The Beatles hotel room-the others got in the hotel but got kicked out before they actually got into the room-after which she realized just how much of a fan of The Beatles she was and started messing around with their instruments and doing other stuff. Later after the maid caught her under John Lennons bed she wasnt kicked out but she did get her fifteen minutes of fame both with the press and other teenage girls. Needless to say after all that she called off her elopement. Other characters in the movie that are good are two teenagers who know all the trivia on The Beatles and one of them is running to the phone every time Murray The K asks a trivia question about them so she can be the first one on and win tickets to see them on their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan show. Another girl just wanted to get a picture of them and bribes a boy who has a crush on her-whos father has a business that supplies limos which she needs to get to the hotel-to drive her to the hotel even though he only has a permit. We also have a kid whos tickets to The Ed Sullivan show are taken from him by his dad and whether or not he gets them depends on whether he gets a haircut. Them of course we have two people who hate The Beatles and are picketing them. One of them changes her mind after she becomes part of a scuffle involving the kid who needs a haircut.Everybody gets a ticket-eventually-and sees The Beatles at their first appearance except two people. Where thats concerned lets just say that this movie has an ending worthy of The Twilight Zone that you wouldnt believe. Anyway this is a very good movie. You should get it.

Don’t need to be A Beatles fan to love this movie
I first saw this on laserdisc many years back and loved it. The bluray Criterion edition gives it a nice treatment. The casting is great, it’s funny and gives an authentic feel of how it must have been during Beatle Mania. It’s no surprise considering it’s a collaboration between Spielberg and Zemeckis.

1964 was the best year of ALL !
I will admit I was only 1 year old in 1964. But from all the footage I’ve seen during that time when The Beatles first arrived in the U.S. everyone was having the best & unforgettable times of their life. This movie helps relive that moment. Highly Enjoyable. âââââ

Great blast from the past!
I remember watching this on TV as a kid and just loved it! Unfortunately it does have a spate of unnecessary bad language (which mustâve been edited out on network television), which marrs an otherwise really great movie (4 stars). 5 stars for the actual product and delivery experience.

A Blast from the Past!!
Love this movie! A humorous take on the Beatlemania of the early 1960s. The dvd is packed with lots of fun extras to make any Beatles fan smile!

Zameckis at his creative best!
Robert Zemeckis is a cinematic Houdini. His best work displays his creative solutions when bound by cinematic restraints. Here, the restraining rule is that the audience can never see the faces of the Beatles. The brilliant ways he gets around this only add comedy to this teen farce which features faces you’ll see later on in Spielberg’s 1941. An outstanding sleeper, with outstanding extras.

Fun Fun Fun
Finally came to Criterion. This is a fun, fun movie. Even my teenage daughter enjoyed this film. Not a ton of extras but well worth the money. Great film.

Muy buena pelÃcula de comedia, lastima que no exista el blu-ray con subtÃtulos
Ringo Spencer –
Sure, maybe it’s a low budget comedy, and maybe, it does not have the greatest comedians in the world, however, it has original “Beatles’ music, that is played throughout the movie, which in my opinion, is worth the price alone. Overall, it’s a nice comedy, and made through the Criterion Collection, it looks great on the screen, nice and clear picture. Great purchase.

I loved this movie. Period! The story is looney, the acting is perfect, the situation mad mad mad! But out of all the hysteria that is clearly on display, there lies a certain truth: everyone needs – at some point of their life – to fall into a collective hysteria and project all their excess energy on someone. George Harrison understood this. He talked about it. But there is also the crowd vs the cops… Watch it! It is worth it. The BEST BEATLES movie ever!!!!
