Great curler, hot tools wins!
My ceramic curler of probably 6 or so years finally died, and decided to try Hot Tools based on recommendations. I didn’t realize I was missing out! The controls are nicely places so you don’t bump them as you curl. Good length swivel cord so it doesn’t get in the way. The barrel length is average but the top cool knob is great as it has a hole you can stick a finger for better grip as you curl. The clamp holds hair securely without leaving a big crimp/crease and it slides through the hair nicely. This produced nice sized shiny waves, and lots of temperature options. Convinced me to purchase a Hot Tools straightener also!

Finally, great big waves that last!
This is my 3rd curling iron that I have bought from Amazon. I have been steadily reading reviews and watching youtube videos. I returned a much more expensive gold Paul Mitchell that seriously would not curl my hair at all. I then invested in a cheap Conair 1 1/4 inch barrel because my smaller Conair is awesome, but that also disappointed when the beautiful waves it created literally disappeared after 30 minutes. I have been wanting a Hot Tools iron, but couldn’t decide on which model. The company’s gold plated curling irons are very popular and I am sure that would have worked also, but my main concern was my hair type: very fine, dry, long hair. Although my hair is not really damaged, it is delicate and does snap easily. I have been using olaplex and also protein and moisture treatments but still have to be very careful. The nano ceramic is supposedly the best iron for delicate hair and hopefully will prevent damage. Used it for the first time last night and so far I am very happy. I do find that with my longer hair in the back I needed to turn the temp up a bit, but even on 400 degrees I saw no smoke, nor did I notice a burning smell. I do use a heat protecting spray. In fact, the iron was very gentle. There is definitely a learning curve for me on this tool, but I think I am going to love it. The swivel cord is awesome, the weight and feel of the iron makes me believe it will last, and most importantly my large waves lasted through yesterday evening and into the night. I wore my hair in a loose braid last night while I slept. This morning I simply took my hair down and used some dry shampoo, combed it with my fingers and my waves still look amazing. If the iron continues to function this well I will likely purchase the 1 inch also.

This iron gets up to temperature fast. Very easy to use & comfortable weight in the hand. The swivel cord works better than any I have EVER had allowing you to move in any way necessary as you style. Love the shiny curls, it leaves my hair very healthy looking=)The box was in perfect condition when I opened the package. I noticed that they included 2 extra springs as that is usually the first thing to go on any iron. I LOVE that they’ve included 2, that tells me that they stand behind the quality of their products & fully expect this iron will last for a very long time. I typically have to replace springs in 4-5 years, that said I wouldn’t be surprised if this iron lasts me for 10! From the time I was little I can remember my grandmother styling her hair with a curling iron from Helen of Troy & my very first curling iron was that brand. Their products were top notch & her hairdresser highly recommended them. I never really knew what happened but the brand seemed to disappear. I noticed on the outside of the box it said HOT TOOLS by Helen Of Troy!!!! It’s a miracle, so happy to know I have a quality product for a reasonable price. You can not go wrong with this curling iron. or ANY Hot Tools product for that matter=)

Love it but curls wonât last
Love the wand but it doesnât get really hot and my curls donât last even half a day unless I put a lot of texturizing and light hold hairspray. My other curling irons are not like that. Good quality and easy to use. Long cable and easy to use.

I bought this product thinking that with some practice I would be able to remember how to curl my hair. This product made it so easy! It leaves me with perfect curls every time. Highly recoomend this product.

The Best
I have used this curling iron for years. After at least 6 years(I actually think itâs longer, but canât remember how long), the wire on my old one wore out so I ordered this new one. It works great and is perfect, as far as Iâm concerned. Heats up fast, comfortable in my hand, and obviously lasts for a long time. I will keep getting this model as long as they make them.

Shorted out within 7 months of purchase
I just bought this thing and it stopped working within 7 months. The cord has to be at a very certain angle for it to work, and if it moves it turns off. Have to buy a diff curling iron.

This is my second Hot Tools curling iron in about 30 years. My first one still works, but does not have the ceramic coating, which makes your hair glide so smoothly through the iron. I had bought a Hot Shot Tools iron with the ceramic coating several years ago, which also still works, but it is not as smooth as the Hot Tools. This could be due to the iron being older, but I am very happy with my new Hot Tools purchase. The price was very competitive compared to the Hot Shot Tools price that I found online while searching for my new iron to replace one that was lost in our RV in a wildfire last summer. I actually decided to keep the new one at home and put the old one in our RV!
