Product works well to dry and style
I like this product because it grabs hair without tearing while drying. What I don’t like is the changeable end that keeps loosening. I recommend this product but wish I purchased a smaller barrel (had ordered 1″ barrel size) which is better for shorter hair fluffing. Good product at a good price, and I AM reordering in the smaller barrel 3/4″ size.

Styling Brush that works well
I have been using a styling brush to style my short hair for many many years. In the past, I purchased another brand (VS) and used each brush until the motor finally wore out. I have all the sizes of barrels saved from those old brushes, and they fit fine on this new Hot Tools Pro Styling Brush. This new one has a longer cord than my previous styling brushes. It’s 8 feet long and longer than I need, but it’s a good professional length. This Hot Tools styler is also much quieter than my previous tools.I know this is a styling brush and not a dryer. Anyone who is trying to dry their hair with a styling brush is unlikely to get good results. This Amazon review form asked me to rate the styling brush’s “Drying Power” but that makes absolutely no sense. It’s not a dryer!I either wait till my hair is almost dry or just spritz it with water if it gets too dry. Then I start on top, style the sides, and end with the back. The styling brush adds body, waves, and smoothness to my hair. Works great!I’ll probably buy another one soon and put it in the cupboard. When the motor finally dies on this one (usually 2 – 4 years), I’ll just pull the new out and continue styling.

LOVED this item until it overheated
My hairstylist told me about this styling brush and I couldn’t wait to try it. I have baby fine hair without any texture at all, and I found this styling brush to be very easy to use and it made my hair look good. I LOVED IT! That said, one day it overheated. I let it cool down and used it the next day, and it overheated again. I was devastated and had to resort to my blow dryer and round brush which didn’t work for me at all. My daughter let me try her brand of styling brush, and it didn’t work for me. I’ve since reordered this styling brush with the hope that it doesn’t overheat, because I really like this brand/model styling brush.

Excellent Hair Styling Tool!
I’ve been using these hair styling tools for over 20 years! It used to be manufactured by Helen of Troy and I bought them from Sally Beauty Supply stores. Now, it is called “Hot Tools” and is sold through the Helen of Troy company in Texas. It has always been the same tool with some minor changes here and there. FIRST, you need to know it is NOT A HAIR DRYER! It is a hot air “styling tool”. You can use it on your dry hair, or you can wash your hair and dry it with a dryer, leaving it damp, then use this styling tool. I buy the 1-1/2 ” size because I want a more relaxed curl. My hair is very straight, thick, and finely textured. This tool makes it so easy for me to get ready in the mornings. I just grab a chunk of hair and count to 15 or more and release. I’ve never had it tangle my hair! I probably use it on 6 or 8 sections of my hair while counting to 15, each time and I’m done! Doesn’t get much easier than that! The tool lasts a long time, 3 or 4 years, with daily use. You DO need to keep lint out of the air intake area at the end of the tool. I occasionally use a straight pin, with the tool off and unplugged, to gently lift out any lint that might collect there. It probably works best for short to medium hair. I’ve used it for both. I also used it on the ends of hair when I had long hair. You just can’t wind your long hair around it. I highly recommend this great styling tool!

Seemingly disappointed
I ordered this after receiving the Revlon volumizer dry brush. I was looking for a dry brush that would potentially put a bit of wave and movement in my hair. Let me start off my saying I am a professional hair sylist and. I know how to use these products. I know what to use in my hair to prep it to make sure my hair style stays. I am very familiar with the Hot tools brand an have had many other products that were satisfactory made by them.My first impression was “Is this fake. Is a joke? joke? The construction of this is very flimsy. Very week. I feel if it was dropped the handle would shatter. I feel it’s like something I would find in the dollar store. It is not typical construction and quality of a normal Hot tools brand.I remained optimistic and tried it. It does get super hot which is a plus because it will eliminate heat damage. It was lightweight and easy to maneuver my medium length hair. You could not use this solely to dry your hair. You would need to pre dryer to 85-90% dry before use.The curl release button does help for when your hair tries to tangle. I really wish this had flexible bristles like a round brush so you could really work it to set a curl in but it doesn’t so tangling is increased even with a bigger diameter.I have used it 3 times and each time the curl/wave stays for very little time. I can fit round brush my hair with a standard round brush and blow dryer and it stays all day. This doesn’t even stay for 2 hours tops.I do have to say I spent time reading the reviews before I bought it and I saw tons of women saying they had gotten it tangled and stuck in their long hair and they were using the 3/4 inch. That diameter is way to small to use in longer than 4 inches of hair ( and that’s pushing it) so if you choose to order you MUST order a bigger diameter for the length of hair or you most definitely will get it stuck.I ordered a 1 1/4 inch for a looser curl.I will definitely be returning because I can get a better result with lasting curl/wave with a round brush and blow dry

This is fantastic!
I love that the tool does not get so hot I canât keep it near my scalp until my hair dries. Itâs the perfect blow speed with heat to set my curl and the release button for the brush is so nice -it keeps the curl of the brush instead of pulling out the curl as you release the hair. The hard bristles make it easy to clean. Very happy with this purchase!

I have very fine, layered, short hair, thinning in places around the crown. I love love this little blow dryer. The barrel is slim enough to catch and hold my hair, does not tangle it, I am careful to unwind the hair from the barrel, this is easy to do. There is plenty of heat in it for my hair, in fact I usually use it on the low setting, after blow drying it to damp/dry with a regular blow dryer. I can give my hair some loose or tighter curl if I want, or just smooth it a little for some lift and body. Easily gives my hair lots of body which I need. I find it is well made no different in quality from any of the other hair appliances I have. So a big Thankyou to Hot Tools for the small barrel styler, it has made my life very much easier.

Did the job I wanted. East to use, just plug in and style. Pretty much idiot proof.

The brush was very cheap. Had to replace it with my old blow and curl brush.
