Sugaring vs. Waxing

Sugar cannot adhere to live skin cells.

This means less discomfort for you and less trauma to your skin. Sugaring does remove dead skin cells – so as the hair is removed, your skin is also getting exfoliated! Wax has been known to remove more than just the hair, since it can adhere directly to live skin cells, which makes waxing more painful and irritating. Wax cannot be applied to an area more than twice at the most.

After care tips

To prevent ingrown hairs, we recommend exfoliating daily and moisturizing. It is very important to exfoliate and hydrate your skin. If you cannot exfoliate daily, we recommend you exfoliate your skin every two to three days to remove dead skin cells and to avoid ingrown hairs. Don’t forget to moisturize your skin and hair follicles to keep them hydrated.

    Easy to use!
Took a bit of time to get used to, but was able to get all if not most of the hair! The kit has the essentials in it so it’s a great starter kit to see if you will like it and test if you want a bigger tub!

Once you practice, this works great!
First let me start off by saying that I haven’t waxed my legs in the past, so I won’t be able to tell you the difference between waxing and sugaring. But after years of shaving my legs, I wanted something that lasted a little longer than 2 days!I watched a couple videos on sugaring online and tried to make my own (spectacular failure!), so I turned to Amazon to see what I could get. I was not disappointed in this product. But there are a few things I have experienced that I want to share so others can get the most out of this kit:1. Do not warm up the sugar wax – AT ALL. Trust me on this, I know it says to, and I know it’s really thick if you don’t, but if you aren’t using fabric strips, then don’t warm it up. If the sugar wax is too warm, then it just sticks to your skin and makes a huge mess.2. Practice makes perfect. If you watch the video for this product, there’s a “flicking” technique to get the wax off (along with your hair). It’s going to take some time to get this method down, but once you do, it’s a game changer. My first attempt at using this was not great but by the end of the first session, I was getting the hang of it. By then it was late and I was frustrated, so I saved the other leg for a different day. When I came back and did the second leg, I was getting much better at the “flick” and by the end, the hair was being removed so easily!3. Do NOT use this after getting out of the shower. I know, seems like having those nice open follicles would make removing the hair easier and less painful right? NOPE. Your skin is too warm and the bathroom is too warm and humid and (see #1 above) if this sugar wax gets warm/wet it won’t work well. You’re much better off taking a shower (exfoliate your legs with a nice loofah or scrub with a washcloth) and then using the sugar wax either hours later, or even the next day.4. Make sure your skin is bone dry. If you use a powder on your legs (or corn starch or whatever), make sure to dust it off well before starting to use the wax.Hope this helps others get the most out of this product. I was really happy with the results. I didn’t come away from the experience without a few stray fine hairs here and there, but I am going to try to get them all on the next go. End goal for me is finer regrowth than I got with shaving and the ability to take more time between removal. (Doing it now so by the time summer rolls around, I will have shorts-worthy legs!)Edited to add: Get some aloe w/ lidocaine to smooth over the waxed area afterwards. Cools, soothes and the lidocaine helps with any lingering discomfort.

difficult to use, not beginner friendly
I wanted to love this, but it was so difficult to use. In the past, I’ve used straps and a wax bead kit with no trouble. However, I couldn’t seem to figure this out! I tried to wax my bikini area and it bruised me horribly.

Good Product, Easy to Learn, Will Buy Again
My wife and I bought this to skip having to go to the spa. We tried it on her underarms and my lower legs. It didn’t pick up the wispier hairs on her underarms all that well, but got the bigger hairs and we were able to epilate the leftovers. It was extremely effective on my legs.As it was the first time we tried at-home sugaring, it took about an hour to get through everything. I recommend watching a quick video on technique, then it’s a matter of practice-makes-perfect. It took about 15-20 minutes to really get the hang of it.I’d also recommend not even bothering with the gloves. They’re fine if you’re going to do a quick 5-minute patch job. More than that, they were extremely sticky and hard to maneuver with. It got to a point where we just used our hands because the sugar didn’t stick as much and we were more easily able to mold the paste.Re-using globs of paste was easy and didn’t feel gross like I expected. The applicators make things straightforward and are very easy to clean. Much cheaper overall than having to go get it done professionally. Your technique will improve and make it even more worth the money. We estimate we’ll get about 3 months out of 1 jar, which is a fraction of what it’d cost going out every 4-6 weeks.TLDR: 4/5, only losing a star for lame gloves. Will purchase again!

Waste of money!! Worst wax ever!!!
I believe this is the worst wax ever, the description implied you could rip it off, no not the case after half of my leg had the wax on it, it would not come off until I used strips and it didn’t remove any of my hair. Never again with this wax. Not to mention I heated this wax up as instructed and not I have a burn on my leg.

    It ACTUALLY Works!
This one is a Winner! BUT…..TRIM THE HAIRS UNLESS YOU WANT TO YOWL LIKE A CAT IN HEAT….I’ve tried a lot of different waxing products and I will re-order this over and over. Super, super, SUPER easy to clean up (only need warm water) and it is SO much less painful than hard waxes. It IS a bit messy so have an extra towel or two around. Or I’m simply not experienced enough from doing this myself to keep from making a mess, which is a very good possibility because, frankly, I’m a klutz. They recommend the hair be at least 1/8 of an inch long, but if the hair is much longer than that, you’ll be sorry. Seriously. Not joking. I learned this the hard way and now the naughty bits are a bit more tender. At least it was easy to clean off by jumping in the shower and gently scrubbing when I decided it was too much to do all in one session, leaving half of the Field of Dreams to be landscaped for another day.Who knows – maybe I’ll start a trend of zebra stripes.

    Not consistent!
The first container I purchased 09/22 and it worked great!! Just purchased my second kit and it has not gone so well this time around. I’ve tried twice now and I cannot get the product to work as before. I’ve heated it the same way, same amount of time. Tried it with no heating at all. I can tell something with the product has changed because I cannot get it to lift off after applying. Unfortunately I have to start over and try out a different brand now. I’m so disappointed because I did love the results from the first purchase!!
