Beautiful Finish, Solid Every Day Carry
Used to carry the wooden square option from a different brand. That easily fit in a shirt front pocket.This one does not, as it is quite longer.The first thing I noticed about this comb is how hefty it feels in the hand. This gives me a good feeling about its craftsmanship, as the square one ended up snapping in half after a year from every day carry.The comb itself has two different bristle gaps, very similar to what you find on the square wood option.It can be used on your hair, beard, or both with good results.It sticks out just slightly in the back pocket of a standard pair of jeans, and its thin enough (can be put to the furthest left or right, depending on which pocket) so that its not noticeable when sitting down.It has a case, which is a good and necessary every day carry function. It fits very tight and smooth into the case itself. Of note, the case material is pretty thin.The comb has a great wood grain to it and is finished beautifully.Seems to be a much better product than most of the combs I have tried for my beard.Solid, Good Size, Beautiful Finish.

Great build quality and great customer service behind their comb!
So I was looking for a wood comb on Amazon and this one from Rocky Mountain was one of the top searches. I’ll be honest, I was skeptical at first because it didn’t seem much different from the other hundred generic ones that was in the search results either. I even Googled up wood combs and there didn’t seem to be a name brand one.I’m glad I took the plunge on this comb from Rocky Mountain though. I ordered one at first and was satisfied with it. It’s built nicely and definitely has a nice sturdy feel. Half the comb has finer teeth whereas the other half has a larger set of teeth. Comes with a little travel case with it too. I ended up ordering two or three more though as I didn’t want to carry one around everywhere so I don’t really use the case. The case seems a little flimsy but I won’t judge it too much as I barely use it. I placed one at work and sometimes carry one when I go out.I actually ended up talking to EasyWayProducts (I’m assuming Rocky Mountain’s owner) because one of the combs had a bunch of smudge marks on it and frankly came shipped looking used. They ended up sending me a new one, no questions asked. As I’m writing this review months after I ordered these combs, I didn’t get a chance to leave their company feedback but I am Incredibly impressed with their customer service! I’d definitely buy more of these combs if I needed more (probably won’t… how many combs can you really need right?)!

Ride the wavy hair
I really like this comb. The fact that it is made out of wood is a plus for me. Both of set of comb teeth are perfect in size and spacing. This comb is heavier than the plastic ones. So when you use it for the first time, just be aware of it. If you use hair gel or pomade, it will be picked up in between the teeth. But the comb rinses very easily and cleans out. My hair is a bit fine and this comb works fine. But I think you have thick full hair, then this would be the best comb. Definitely recommend a buy.

Variable quality control, great comb if you get a good one.
The Rocky Mountain sandal wood comb has a great solid feel and a natural sandal wood scent that gives it qualitues that you don’t find in typical combs. I love the wood grains and color, the anti-static properties, and the fact that the comb teeth are very durable compaired to typical plastic or acetate combs. The only gripe I have is the lack of consistency in the finishing. The comb teeth have a mild wavy alignment, likely caused by hand sanding the comb. Also, there was a wood chip on the emd of the comb. The chip was small, but doesn’t help the overall quality of the product if it can be avoided with a better sanding or cutting job. I understand that this is a natural wood product that is to some degree handmade, so I only docked 1 star. There will always be some variation in this type of product, but it really is the luck of the draw on what quality you will get when ordering this comb. That is the nature of a handmade natural wood product. This issue could be resolved by having a more diligent quality control inspection to weed out the poor quality combs to ensure the best quality makes it to the market.

Possibly the best purchase I’ve ever made
This comb exceeded all of my expectations. I know, I know, it seems ridiculous to like a comb so much… until you actually try this one. I had been using standard black plastic combs to comb both my hair, which is on the longer side, and my beard, which is also on the longer side. I put up with the snags because I thought that was just the price to pay for having longer hair. However, a few weeks ago the teeth started to break off of my plastic comb, while I was combing my hair. I jumped online and started browsing for combs when I came across this one. Now, I don’t pretend I’m a Viking or a Pirate. I don’t live in a cabin in the woods. But if I can ditch a piece of plastic and replace it with a piece of wood, that seems like a good thing to do. So I saw this comb and ordered one without reading too much about it. When I first got it I thought man, this thing is huge… why did I buy this? Then I ran it through my beard and was it with two things: one, the beautiful scent, and two, no snags? The scent on this thing is truly great. I have a lot of experience with aromatherapy and high-quality essential oils, and the scent on this comb is second to none. The scent alone is enough to warrant the purchase. But the other thing is, this truly is a nearly-zero snag comb. In the weeks I’ve been using it for both beard and hair I’ve had exactly one snag, and it was a minor one. My concern about the initial weight was gone the instant I used it. In fact, i just ordered a second one so I can have dedicated to hair and one dedicated to my beard. If you’re thinking about getting one, just do it. Great product.

I am a male with long hair and bought this comb as an alternative to plastic or metal. It seems to have helped with static. It has held up well for the roughly 1 year I have been using it – the moisture from combing wet hair does not seem to cause issues and I have not had any issues with bristles breaking. I do let it air dry out after each use (it sits on the counter instead of being put away in its pouch). It initially had a smell to it – I didn’t mind the smell, but I can appreciate how it may bug some people sensitive to scents. The smell did wear off and now it does not have a scent any more. Overall a great comb and 5 stars.

Don’t get me wrong. This comb is great. It has a great weight to it, and a nice scent that smells like mint and leather wood. The wood’s stiffness also helps to brush your hair with ease, compared to your usual plastic comb.The problem I have with this comb is that I think it is a bit overpriced for what it does. It definetly offers quality, but the value. I can’t say I’m proud to have bought this 20$ comb.It goes without saying that it would make a great gift for a male relative/friend. Regardless of price!

I am very pleased with the product and I’ll most definitely purchase another wooden comb for myself or as a gift in the future. Few days prior to the delivery Rocky Mountain e-mailed me to assure that if I am unhappy with the product they will try to solve the issue with in 24 hours. It was very nice of them to contact their customers to show that they care about their product and client.The item comes with a nice leather case. The comb itself is very thick, and a little heavy so it wont break easily. I have been using this for roughly 3 weeks now. Wooden combs feel really gentle and relaxing on my scalp unlike those rough plastic combs most of us use. I think people with sensitive scalp will really benefit from this. This is my first time using wooden comb and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to using regular comb ever again.

Great comb. Mine has bent a bit and has a crack in it, but that’s from improper storage and using it on wet hair. It still works fine with the 15° bend in it, though I can’t fit it in my pants pocket with my phone anymore. Let your hair dry a bit before using this comb, and after use let it dry inside of a paper towel. If you use messy hair product, wash the teeth every week or so with an old toothbrush under a gentle stream of cool water, leave the comb to dry, then oil it with whatever you use in your hair. I don’t use hair oil, but I rub mine with some oil-based hand balm. You could also use coconut oil (which is great for hair). Dab the excess oil off with a paper towel and let it rest a few hours before use unless.You shouldn’t need to oil it if you use oil in your hair. Just wash and dry as usual and some of the oil on your hair will coat the comb. This, or course, also works with naturally-occuring oils in your hair. It’s important to keep it oiled because it helps prevent water damage, snagging in your hair, and scratching your scalp.
