Love the Shape and Quality
I really like the shape of this foot scrubber how itâs flat for both sides. The one I previously owned was concave for one type of grit, and the plastic handle snapped. For this foot scrubber, the wood handle is thick so I donât foresee it snapping with regular use. Only knocking a star because I wish the grits were more easily differentiated (they feel almost the same; I wish one side was noticeable rougher and the other side noticeably finer) and that the handle had a protective clear coating (we keep ours in the shower and I feel the water will weaken the wood over time). Other than that, for the price, I would buy this again and again. Works well and keeps my feet soft.

Better than electric files
Let me preface this by saying I have HORRIBLE feet. I have bunions that cause heavy callusing and rough dry heels. Skip sanding and/or moisturizing for more than a couple of days and I don’t have feet, I have hooves.So, I had a battery operated file that was dying and I ordered this item as a stop gap until I could research a replacement file. People, save your money–just buy this. Here’s why:The file I had worked alright–as long as it had fresh batteries, which it ate quickly, and as long as the replacement head was also new. I could get about 3 ‘sandings’ and then it just wasn’t working very well. And those replacement heads were expensive–especially the extra coarse, which is what I really needed. I have been using this file almost daily for 6 months and it shows no sign of wear at all.THe hand file is more maneuverable. there’s no framework to get in the way, so it will reach pretty much every part of your foot–including between your toes if you need too. It fits nicely in your hand–the handle is long enough to give a good grip–which is definitely better than a small pumice stone that will slip out of your hand.It’s easy to clean–holding in a stream of running water will do it, or give it a couple of swipes with a bath brush if you’re in a hurry.Cons (not really, but to consider)The wood handle finish isn’t waterproof–it started to flake off after a couple of months. They’d be better off to just use some wood that was water resistant and not finish it at all, or get a better finish. Affects the appearance but nothing else.Had no instructions. Ok, I know, it’s a foot file, but some people may never have used one and if you are too vigorous with this you are going to damage your skin. It will aggressively remove dead skin, so it would be nice if they included a few instructions. Go gently and slowly until you get a feel for it. Too hard and too fast, and you could cause abrasions and blisters.Doesn’t really have a fine side. It’s supposed to have coarse and fine, but to my touch, there is minimal difference between the two. I would say the coarse side is about the equivalent of 80 grit sand paper, and the ‘fine’ side is no more than 90 grit. I can barely tell the difference by feeling the sides, and I have sensitive fingers. Doesn’t bother me, because — HOOVES. You do have to be careful, because if you keep sanding in one direction, you will get visible scratch marks on your feet. I’ve found that light pressure and a random circular motion helps. Also, if you use it wet, it is much more gentle.

Easily does the work
I love soaking my feet in my large Japanese foot soaking tub (also from Amazon). After a good 25-min soak, I use this item to get rid of all that yucky thick skin on my heel, and calluses on the ball of feet. It works great and my feet look presentable again.
