    Excellent!
This is now my go to SPF and also they only make it in two colors and I thought this shade would be too dark on my skin, but it literally just turns the color of whatever skin you have if you are Caucasian the other color I believe is for More olive and dark skin people, but I can’t be 100% sure because I’m blonde and blue eyed! It’s also super great because it’s made by the same amazing company Avéne France which over the last year I have switched to using this company‘s amazing healing products by 80% and the other 20% is when I find something at Costco and or Trader Joe’s that’s a high-quality good price retinol but I still slap on this company, family style everything healing diaper & big bite & wound heavy zinc% cream.

    Great light coverage
I absolutely love this product. I don’t like wearing a ton of makeup and this gives me just enough coverage to even out my skin plus provides spf protection!

    Smooth, opaque coverage, rosacea-approved
NOT MEDICAL ADVICE, I’m simply a woman in my 50s with rosacea and this is MY experience.Unlike most “tinted” sunscreens, this gives full, opaque coverage. So be sure the color matches your skin tone. I usually use a light/medium makeup base and this sunscreen works well for me. My natural redness is very light, but this covers it completely and I even need to put blush on top of it if I want to go with more than a “natural” no-makeup look.I have very sensitive skin that is extremely prone to flare up after just the tiniest bit of sun exposure. This doesn’t irritate my skin at all and I can spend the day in full sun and not have a reaction.Smooth, creamy application – I use my freshly washed finger having just washed my face, not the included foam pad, for cleanliness and to not waste product, but that’s obviously personal preference, not a slam against the pad. A little goes a long way, but I do use quite a thick layer over my cheeks to make sure I get the whole SPF. I’ve used it alone and also as a spot coverage for my cheeks over LaRoche Posey’s SPF 50 clear, chemical sunscreen.I can’t put it under my eyes; it settles into fine lines and magnifies them. Not enough to remove a whole star, but if I could take half a star away for that and for how it only comes in one opaque color I would. If your skin tone is medium/light, you’re looking for full makeup-style coverage, and you have sensitive skin this is a MUST-TRY. I’ll definitely buy it again when it runs out and that’s not my usual experience with my skincare products.

    Nice, but takes some experimenting
This took some experimenting but overall I like it. It’s basically a cream to powder mineral foundation compact that will give you some SPF and medium coverage of imperfections — if you try to go for full coverage it will look cakey and you’re better off applying it thinner and using concealer. You need to have exfoliated/moisturized/plump skin before applying because it will dry down to a matte finish and make ANY dry skin flakes obvious. It also does transfer to things like tissue and clothes, so it’s best followed with a little bit of a very fine setting powder. Because this doesn’t look good in a unilaterally thick layer on your face, it should really be used on top of another sunscreen to get adequate sun protection; I use it on top of the Avene liquid sunscreen, though it looks best when the sunscreen has a few minutes to sink in before applying this. I am several shades paler than the light shade of the compact, but its neutral color blends out nicely (less is more), so as long as I am careful not to overapply it just evens out my skin and gives me a little sun kissed glow. I have struggled with some melasma in the past year, and I find that this helps make it less noticeable without making it obvious I’m wearing makeup (which is not something I’ve been able to accomplish with my favorite tried and true concealers). This does not clog my pores at all and I feel like it lets my skin breathe much better than many products I’ve used in the past, though it is a mineral layer on your skin so it’s important to double wash your face at night and ensure you get it all off. I have tried to wash the applicator sponge but it’s too porous to really get clean, and I read on their website that the sponge isn’t really expected to be washed because the compact will only last for a month or two of daily use. The compact is good, albeit a bit bulky, but I wish they would offer a slightly nicer compact and simply sell refill pans and sponges… I intend to repurchase this, but given the environmental impact of the one-time use packaging and that the product transfers unless set with powder, I could still easily be swayed to try another product (especially once my melasma clears up some more).

Decent Sunscreen but Not for Everyday Use
The Eau Thermale Avène Mineral Protection SPF 50 sunscreen provides strong sun protection, which I appreciate, especially with its UVA/UVB coverage. However, the texture and less color options was a bit of a disappointment—it doesn’t blend well with my skin tone and can leave a visible cast, making it less ideal for everyday wear. The cream is also a bit thick, so it takes some effort to apply evenly. On the plus side, it feels gentle on the skin and didn’t cause any irritation. It’s good for outdoor activities, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a daily sunscreen due to the tint and texture.
