Easy to use
This made oiling my numerous cutting boards and utensils very easy and less messy. Usually the oil drips everywhere or you get too much in one area. The applicator made it simple. The brush helps get gunk out of old grooves in the wood. Great product.

Get this DEBETOOL Cutting Board Oil Wax Applicator and Scrub Brush Set along with a bottle of Food Grade Mineral Oil, and youâll be all set to make your old cutting board look like new again. These tools are fancier than the regular scrub brush that you use for daily cleaning. Theyâre made of high quality wood, just like your expensive butcher block cutting board. Each of the tools has a smooth rounded handle that fits the shape of your hand so itâs easy to hold. The brush is made of natural sisal fibers. You can also use these tools to clean and protect wood salad bowls, wooden utensils, knife blocks, and charcuterie boards.
Use the brush to clean the board using a non-toxic biodegradable soap or simply lemon juice and salt which have natural cleaning power and antibacterial properties. After the board is thoroughly dry, apply food grade mineral oil by spreading it around with the sponge applicator, and let it sit overnight. Wipe off any excess oil in the morning. The oil penetrates the wood grains. Not only will this prevent drying and cracking, it will keep moisture from soaking in and bacteria from growing. Even a bamboo cutting board benefits from being oiled periodically. (TIP: Donât use cooking oils as they will get rancid, and make sure the mineral oil is food grade.)
For a finishing touch, you may want to use a soft cloth to apply a thin layer of Butcher Block Conditioner which is like a cream or wax. This acts as a physical barrier on the surface of the wood that fills in knife scars and seals any microscopic cracks where bacteria would otherwise gather. But I like to keep things simple and I use a combination product that contains both Food Grade Mineral Oil and Beeswax in one. You can find these on Amazon with names like Wood Wax or Wood Butter. They come in small round tins, which has the added plus of being the perfect shape for dipping the DEBETOOL applicator into.

This is a great little set. It works as expected, however, I donât really think itâs something that you really need and more of something that you get if youâre just trying to be a little fancy.

Great for cleaning and maintaining charcuterie board
I got the DEBETOOL Cutting Board Oil Wax Applicator and Scrub Brush Set to clean and maintain my charcuterie board. I have a bamboo charcuterie board and need something to apply the mineral oil. The little sponge oil wax applicator is perfect for doing that job. The included natural sisal fiber brush is great at removing any left-over food on the board. The bamboo handles look sturdy and are easy to hold. Definitely, this set is a must for anyone with wood cutting boards or charcuterie boards.
One small complaint – I wish the sponge oil wax applicator were bigger. With its small size, I’m not sure that it will last a long time. Also, that little sponge does not appear to be replaceable in its bamboo handle. When it’s worn out, you’ll need to buy a new one.
On the upside, this set will be used solely for the charcuterie board. Since the board is not used often, I don’t need to clean it often. So, this brush and oil wax applicator will be used infrequently.
All in all, this is a wonderful brush and sponge set for my charcuterie board.
