Works well, but use cautiously
This is my second purchase. After several years of use, my first rasp was getting dull. My callouses are very hard and quite thick, and no amount of foot cream or lotion will reduce the problem at all. I have tried other kinds of foot rasps, and this is the only one that is able to tackle these really hard and thick callouses. However, you have to be very cautious using this foot rasp. You can easily shred your skin and draw blood. RECOMMENDATION: First, soak your feet in warm water for 10-15 minutes. The callouses soak up water and become pliable and soft. You will be surprised at how easily the rasp will remove the dead skin after soaking in warm water. This also makes it easier to remove the dead skin without harming the good skin. If your callouses are thick, do not even try to scrap them while they are dry and hard. It is best to go slow, removing a little bit at the time, using two-three sessions instead of trying to get it all at once. You can definitely cause bleeding by trying too hard at first. If this is your first time using, it is hard to tell when you take too much skin and cause bleeding. This rasp is definitely only for hard, thick callouses.

Listen, I have deep cracks on my otherwise well maintained feet. Starting to become a concern. I’ve used my orbital sander from my workshop on these heals like any normal guy would, right? 50-100 grit works wonders on dry feet. (the women are laughing right now) It worked, but not good enough unless I kept at it and even then, just not enough to level out deep cracks. This rasp is amazing. When you read do not apply pressure, we mean it. It is sharp and both ways (pushing and pulling). Just glide it over easily without pressing. It will shave off calluses like you’ve never seen. I did this first before applying the callus remover and it worked great to give me a head start. Better go outside because it will leave lots of callus and dust. Then I decided it was time to us this: “Lee Beauty Professional Callus Remover for Feet – 8 Oz, Original, Powerful Formulation.” You need to put a rubber glove on and treat this with respect also. Chemical dissolves the dead skin (callus). Wash your feet, soak for about 15-20 min. Dry, then apply gel and let set undisturbed for about 15-20 min. Then wipe off with paper towel. It’s not water soluble so it is slimy and greasy and rinsing won’t work so well. Just wipe it off and throw paper towel away. Then, start rasping and you will see TONS of callus coming off. Doesn’t seem like something to celebrate but this is NOT trivial when you are developing deep cracks in your heals. If you don’t take care of your feet you won’t be walking! I wish I had taken a before and after pic because the difference is truly amazing. I did not anticipate a miracle so I didn’t take pics. Trust me…..this is the ticket if you are developing cracks and need to remove hard calluses so you can get your soft, healthy feet back. I’m a dude but I recognize the importance of ordinary hygiene and bodily care. It’s more about function than looks. Who looks at your heals? Take care of your feet and this is the way to do it if you are in my shoes (pun intended). Kudos to both products. Reasonably priced and great value.

With age my heels seem to stay dry and slightly crack at the edges no matter how much moisturizer I use on them. I have used a mild callous scrubber in the shower for years that helped a little but didnât really make a huge difference. This thing took all the hard dry skin off and to my surprise my heels are actually smooth and soft again. Itâs been a long time since Iâve had that.

This file feels sturdy in the hand. A little goes a long way. It is quite sharp and if you’re not paying attention you will go past where you should have gone. You will not need much pressure at all. A feather touch will probably do the trick.

I have had deep dark cracks on my heels for as long as I can remember and this got rid of them right away. Iâve tried so many different things over the years (foot peels, pumice stones, pedicures, and various other files) this is the only product that has proven to be effective. It is super easy to use and surprisingly gentile. I was worried that my heels would be left jagged after use but that was not the case at all. My feet are so smooth and I could not be happier!

I had bought 3 previous foot rasps.I bought one at the dollar store, one at Walmart and one at a Shopper’s. I have been getting cracks ob ny feet and my skin was think and dry. I did online search’s for the best foot rasp as the ones I had purchased were completely ineffective. My skin was tough and it made them dull the first time I used them.I followed what most people had recommended and soaked my feet first I did this just by putting the plug in and taking a longer than normal shower and rinsing off my feet as I finished.If you have a lot of callouses I strongly recommend you lay down a towel under your foot while using this rasp. It takes off skin faster than you can imagine. It was stunningly effective and fast. In a couple of minutes I was done both feet and I had to shake the towel out before I could put it into the wash. I rinsed it off and put it back in the storage bag they provided and used it again a week later. I have also been moisturizing my feet every day.My feet have no cracks now for almost a month and I have used the rasp a third time. It feels just as sharp to me as the first time. I spent less on this rasp than the Walmart and Shopper’s added together and I am sure it will last quite a while. The handle is comfortable and sturdy and because it doesn’t try to catch the skin inside some cover it is super easy to clean. Tap it off and rinse it and it is clean. I am obsessive so I always wash stuff like this with a sanitizing soap before storage but that is me. You will be glad it didn’t catch all the skin in a built in backing because there will be that much skin and it will both horrify you and satisfy you!I was quite aggressive with it and i did leave a couple of raw patches. No bleeding, just a patch that looked like very mild road rash. They didn’t bother me in 24 hours and I couldn’t see them at all in 48 hours.I gave it a 4/5 for moisturizing because a rasp doesn’t moisturize. It did however allow moisturizer to absorb into my feet in a way it never did before. Take off all that hard dry skin and the healthy skin below appreciates the drink
