I am not a natural blonde and my hair is now growing out dark brown mixed with grey. I have been coloring my hair for past 35 years. This hair color does a great job in taking care of the roots. The coverage is good and it blends well with my ends. This is a permanent hair color, thus make sure that you use the same shade every time unless you are ready for a change. I am very happy with it. I buy variations of color number 8.

Good Coverage, Doesn’t Dry Out My Hair or Leave Lingering Smell
I was paying a fortune at a salon that insisted on using a “high end” semi—permanent color on my hair, which left me with patchy, uneven dye jobs that really dried out my hair. For a couple days afterward, my hair would smell like ammonia and weird herbs. The product they were grossly overcharging for did not lighten my natural dark color in back or cover my gray hair in front. The worst part? People would MENTION it! OMG! That’s when I changed salons and the new stylist I went to told me about Wella hair color. She colored my hair for me using this product and I loved the performance. Great lift, great deposit, even hair tone throughout, doesn’t dry my hair out and the smell goes down the drain when I wash out the product. Since then, my stylist has retired, so I buy my own Wella hair color and developer and color my hair at home. It is simple, easy, affordable and works great. I love this product.
