i can now wear mascara again!
i stopped wearing mascara years ago. i’m not much for makeup anyway, but mascara at least made it look like i had eyes in the pasty-white canvas of my minnesota face. but with contact lenses, flakes getting in my eyes, complicated removal routines (i prefer waterproof)⦠and i truly wore it infrequently enough that it would be gross & dried out within a few months. so i abandoned even that minor attempt to look like i was among the living (blush –tarte– does help, just don’t overdo it). when i turned 60, i realized it really was crucial this differentiating myself as living vs appearing to be an upright cadaver, and hunted for a high-end waterproof mascara–voilà ! i am SO happy to have found this! my younger siblings are no longer embarrassed to be with me in public (no, she’s not dead yet; yes, she really is that pale), and i even startle myself if i catch a glimpse in the mirror and SEE I HAVE EYES! i will never ever go back to the other stuff (you know who you are)⦠easy application (just one swipe up!), there is no flaking, easy removal (if i even remember to take it off). i do use an eyelash “comb” to get the individual lashes to separate or smooth out any tiny lumps, but that’s my peculiarity. as i creep into my more senior years, i’m thrilled to have found a product that i know i’ll continue purchasing/wearing for as long as i am genuinely among the living.

Favorite mascara ever!
Great for adding length & fullness to your lashes! It says all day & I never get that runny mascara look under my eyes. I have oily skin so I typically have that issue but i havenât changed my mascara in 3 years because this one NEVER has that issue!

Actually waterproof
I’ve had so many that claim they’re waterproof and most are waterproof resistant, if that. So many transfer in humidity, rub off or are clumpy. I’ve tried big brands like tarte, urban decay, Mac- none do the job. Clinique is actually waterproof! No racoon eye, smudging or wear. It holds on all day and the brush works well for eliminating clumps. Love this formula! Takes some effort to get off with makeup remover but that’s to be expected with an actual waterproof mascara. Only gripe is the price for the size tube but it’s clinique….pay for the quality.

I finally found THE mascara
I had been using another popular tubing mascara for a few years, and I don’t know if their formula changed, but I was finding it thick and clumpy lately. I searched Amazon and reviews and decided to try this one. It definitely works for my needs. It is smooth, not clumpy and a very nice and natural color. Have been using a couple months and it hasn’t gotten thick yet. I’m pretty sure I will be repurchasing the Clinique waterproof mascara again!

Definitely waterproof but also clumpy.
I’m struggling to get at all my lashes without making a mess, and it’s clumpy when I apply a 2nd coat to try and get more volume. It doesn’t really do much other than darken your lashes with one coat. I love most Clinique products but not this one.

I need water proof mascara in the winter cold or it ends up like black tears rolling down my face. Went to the local drugstore that carries Clinique but they did not have the waterproof version. The gal there said that she preferred the less expensive L’Oreal Panorama over the High Impact. I then ordered the Clinique from Amazon and used the two on two different eyes. I thought they both gave me about the same length and thickness but the L’Oreal was clumpier and at the end of the day was messier. Switched eyes the next day and came to the same conclusion. I always like to give cheaper products a try and don’t wish to waste my money on department store brands if I can find something just as good for far less money but in this case I think the high Impact was nicer mascara. I am not bashing on Panorama. I didn’t think it terrible but I really like my mascara to stay on my lashes and not to end up on my face.

Since first trying this mascara after a complimentary makeover with purchase (in-store) I have stuck with it. Itâs the only mascara that Iâve found to be truly waterproof and that doesnât clump at all and lifts and separates lashes evenly everytime and itâs never irritated my sensitive eyes.
