Canât do without it.
I rely on this solution to prevent blemishes.I never had teenage acne, but after I had my first child at age 24, I began to develop deep, sore and long-lasting (subcutaneous) facial acne. I tried so many products over the years, as well as Dermatologists and various Prescriptions, without consistent success. At age 39 I found relief with Accutane, but still needed topical treatment. I have used Clean &Clear for at least 5 years now. It gives me the best results of all astringents, as it cleans deeply, is long-acting, and does not dry my complexion. I just celebrated my 70th birthday and still use it daily. I will stay loyal to Clean & Clear.

They changed it and it is no longer red
I have used this Clean and Clear salicyclic acid astringent for years. Now it has been reformulated and it is no longer red. It is clear. It also doesn’t seem to be as strong as before. It is labelled as “toner” now on the label, not astringent.

I use these all the time – they’re wonderful.
Good face cleaning product.

This is not the product you once new
Epic fail on the reformulation of this once stellar product to be more “gentle”. The change has rendered C & C entirely ineffective. I’ve been using this exact same product for 10+ years and know it well. This change is significant. It no longer cleans deep. Thankfully I found something at Amazon to replace it that works just about as well as the original formulation of C & C.

Is it supposed to be astringent or toner??
I’ve been using the Clean & Clear astringent for some years now. A while ago stores around me seemed to stop carrying it, hence why ordering it online instead. Ordered what I thought was astringent and got toner. Thought it was an Amazon mistake and got a refund. Ordered it somewhere else…only to receive the same thing. Upon searching the issue online I found Clean & Clear was referring to this as a repackaging of the product. But astringent and toner are different things, no? I had been using the astringent to help dry up oiliness whenever my face randomly felt like that (not super often, but enough to want to do something about it when it did happen). Tried the version of this after it became toner, and it just didn’t seem to do that same thing well at all. So now I have to find a totally new astringent, that is actually an astringent, because this is apparently no longer an astringent, but a toner lol.
