First time boar brush user and impressed!
This is my first boar brush, other than a knock off round brush years ago. I bought the Black Egg based on an article about the best brushes for thinning curly hair and only knew a little about what to expect based on that explanation.Well, I’m impressed! I’ve been a traditional paddle brush user all my life because I had thick hair, but now that I’m losing my hair, the paddle brush is too harsh. The Black Egg boar brush is fantastic, though! I was able to use it to detangle some minor twists, but I’ll probably still use my curl comb for the bigger jobs. What really won me over, though, was how smooth my hair was. I’m used to having flyaways and needing product to smooth my ponytails/buns, but this brush made everything lay flat, smooth, and shiny!Last thing is the size, weight, and grip of the brush. I have fairly small hands and often get joint pain while doing fine motor tasks. So far the grip on this brush seems to be a good width for my hand, and the weight feels balanced from the top to the handle. The bristles are a good stiffness, and it has the “pillow” that helps with shaping and brushing in a natural position.The little comb and hair ties that come with the brush probably won’t get used. The comb was too small for my hands to hold comfortably and didn’t seem to do much. The hair ties, being the plastic kind, aren’t my style.

Love this for my long, fine hair
I love this brush. i didn’t think this type of brush was for my hair (fine, wavy) but it works really well to untangle and align your hair correctly. It also pulls so much dust and fuzz out of my hair. Most importantly it helps spread my natural hair oils down my hair. Really sturdy brush. It does make my hair a little frizzy but that usually means i need to moisturize it.

Comb for detangle and brush for cleaning out oils
I’ve been trying out different methods of hair care. Less water used the better for the hair. I tend to go without washing for two to three weeks and it is thanks to the no-shampoo method of hair care. More hair strands are growing out, though silver-gray (normal to get silver hair early; I’ve been graying since age 15). Anyways I just color my whole head silver to be done with it and just embrace the color that runs deep in the family. With silver hair the strands are delicate so I have to switch the brushes and combs I use to more natural materials to prevent breakage and damage. I use the bamboo comb to de-tangle the hair and the boar bristle brush to clean/ remove dust and other stuff out of the hair. I don’t have to wash my hair too often. I also notice that I could go weeks without washing my hair using this no-shampoo method of cleaning my hair. I only need to clean the brush after using it.I clean the brush using half water and half apple cider vinegar. Just soak it in a glass container (I image plastic tubberwear shouldn’t be an issue) for five minutes or less. This helps to break down the oils without breaking down the bristles of the brush. Do the same for the comb to clean it thoroughly.Natural wooden combs remove some oils, dust, dirt and other things out of the hair, so clean the comb too. The finer the wooden comb the more it would remove, so clean them. I do want to get a comb more fine than this one. The comb that comes with this set does not remove all dust and dirt, so if you can get a comb that is super fine (ideally for skinny strands of hair) to clean the hair thoroughly. This wooden comb is wide tooth, so it does well with de-tangling and styling the hair, but not that great for cleaning the hair in the traditional no-water method. I do love using the comb by adding a few drops of rose oil or rosemary oil onto it and combing through my hair with it to add shine and scent to the hair after using the brush to remove the natural scalp serum to fluff and clean the hair.Think of this set as a life long hair care set. The comb acts a pre-treament, conditioner and leave-in, while the boar bristle brush acts like a shampoo, scalp treatment and massager.

Well made set. The brush is very gentle. Nice packaging too. I’m happy with this set.

J’ai les cheveux très-très longs, j’ai des brosses rondes (pour coiffer) avec poils de sanglier alors le « démêlage » est très difficile, les cheveux s’enroulent dans la brosse, ça tire et c’est très long d’enlever les cheveux de la brosse… J’ai choisi cette petite brosse parce que les poils de sanglier ne font pas d’électricité statique, la brosse n’est pas trop grosse/grande et elle est légère. En la recevant j’ai constaté que les poils de cette brosse sont plus courts et plus souples que sur mes autres brosses, alors ça ne tire pas et mes cheveux sont démêlés en un temps record! Je n’hésiterais pas à l’utiliser pour les cheveux d’enfants. Et ils sont disposés sur un « support » en « quart de lune » qui permet d’enlever les cheveux rapidement!
