Does not pill/flakes when applied over serums/creams, no white cast, invisible after application.
Formulated and Made In Japan. I have used South Korean sunscreens and my personal experience is that this Made In Japan BIORE sunscreen performs much better. Here’s what I do to maintain my skin and protect it from sun and environmental damage: I double cleanse (DHC oil cleanser then La Roche Posay Foaming Cleanser) then prep my face, neck, and decolletage, following the several-step K-Beauty routine by applying clear, liquid serums of 2.5% Retino,l + Vit C./Arbutin (to fade dark spots,) + Niacinamide, + Ganoderma, + snail mucin with ginseng. Then I apply a layer of COSRX propolis-honey-royal jelly extract cream, then a layer of Seoul Ceuticals Snail Repair Cream (contains Vit E, Vit B5 & Green Tea). Before the cream layer of Seoul Ceuticals Snail Repair Cream completely dries and still feels slightly tacky to the touch, I apply a thin layer (two finger lengths) of sunscreen Biore 50 SPF.This BIORE sunscreen goes on smoothly & is completely absorbed, without leaving a white cast. Most importantly, BIORE sunscreen does not pill or flake when dry and when makeup is applied over it.On this skin protective canvas, I then apply a very thin layer of Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Make Up Primer. Then, and only then, do I apply my makeup. I try to achieve the So Korean and Japanese effect of a natural look in my daytime go to office/work make-up. I save the more dramatic makeup looks for special events/evening wear when the light is low and make-up does not appear too overpowering/glaring.I have tried many sunscreens and the ones that are Made In Japan like BIORE, in my experience, are the best.*****Cautionary NOTE*****: I have not tried this Biore sunscreen while spending all day out in full sun or while swimming. For that, I firmly believe you need to use a reef-friendly (approved in Hawaii) thicker mineral-based sunscreen, if you are serious and want to avoid looking like worn, cracked leather after the age of 25. Of course, it is never too late to start a good skin regimen. Start today. In a couple of months and even sooner, you will see the good effects of your efforts.I come from a culture that emphasizes good skin care and protection from the sun (I use a UV-protective umbrella and/or UV-protective wide-brim hats during daylight hours. I am an 82 yo; people say I look 30+ yrs younger. I drink Matcha Green Tea instead of Coffee (which I think ages your skin because it reduces the amount of oxygen that reaches your cells). Take good care of your skin, eat clean, healthy foods, and be happy.

Goes on so smooth and absorbs quickly
Very nourishing to the face and also has so many added vitamins for a SPF based moisturiser. It’s perfect for those who use Tretinol! I will admit the scent is extremely over powering IF you wear contacts – before you apply the moisturiser – otherwise it’s best to wait to put contacts.I accidentally poured too much of, my first time using it and being in a hurry. Not wanting to waste an expensive product, I used all of it on my face and neck. It DID apply extremely white but once it dried? NO white residue or showing up on camera or under LED lights etcetera.I’ll continue to use this under my BB cream.

Excellent product
This product does not burn my skin, or irritate my eyes. It absorbs into the skin quickly and does not leave a white film. It is non greasy. It has a temprary faint pleasant citrus scent when you apply it. You forget you have it on, and it is CRUELTY-FREE..

Much Better Than I Expected
Based on reviews that Iâve seen about the US version of this product, I was pleasantly surprised. I bought it on the recommendation of Chemist Confessions on IG. They used a UV camera to see how good the coverage was after it was applied and a wear test to see how well it held up after a few hours of wear. It had good marks for both areas and compared to the sunscreen that I love (Nivea UV Super Water 50 gel) it covers so much better and lasts longer.Cons:- thicker consistency- traditional US sunscreen smell (slight and wears away)- pills at the end of a dayPros:- moisturizing- doesnât sting eyes- doesnât irritate any part of my face, neck or chest- a little oily looking for a while after application

One of my favorite sunscreens
Iâve been using this for years. I love it. Itâs non greasy since itâs a water based formula. Applies like a gel almost. Absorbs quickly and skin feels hydrated after application

NOT the same as the Japanese version!!
I bought this sunscreen on a trip to Japan and loved it so I wanted to reorder it. I was so excited to see that Biore had a version for the US market and ordered this from Amazon, naively thinking it’d be the same thing. I’m very upset with Biore for not naming the product differently when the formula is so different, because I really don’t like this product. The pros are that it is moisturizing and it leaves no white cast. But otherwise, it feels no different from your average American sunscreen, hence 3 stars. It does not “absorb instantly” into my skin like the packaging claims — I have to spend a long time massaging it into my skin in order to get no white cast. I did not have this issue with the Japanese version — my skin absorbed it very quickly. This sunscreen is also very thick whereas the Japanese version is very lightweight. I really regret buying this sunscreen so I hope this review will help prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

Apply Lotion First
This sunscreen sinks in super fast, so if you have dry skin and want to stand a chance of spreading it around before it vanishes, apply a moisturizer first. Also, this stuff smells like fresh limes. My fingers smell like I just cut limes for tacos. I like it myself but I can understand if others wouldn’t. It’s an unusual choice. The product images might give you impression that it’s made in Japan but it’s not the Japanese version. It’s made in Canada. That being said, it’s much better as a daily face sunscreen (but not for long-wear situations like the beach) than some of the thick, heavily scented sunscreens they sell at American stores. I think I’ll buy it again.
