Good, effective applicator
I’d never heard of these before my doctor suggested getting one. The foam head does not seem to absorb the cream he prescribed for my back. It is long enough so that I can reach every part of my back, although I have to use various angles, including over the shoulder and up from my waist. I haven’t used it often, but I’m glad I have it when needed. In fact, the only thing I would change about it would be to put a bend part way down the handle to make contact with one’s back even easier.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!
I’ve purchased two other similar devices from a competitor and both broke during application of pain relieving ointments. The others also had a cloth-like cover over the applicators surface which served to soak up a lot of the ointment and was difficult to clean. These applicators have neither of these issues. The firm sponge-like applicator and long handle make applying substances easy and with minimal mess. Cleans VERY easy. I THINK the handle is wood, but it may be a plastic that really looks wood-like. Either way, it is very smooth and apparently quite strong as it hasn’t broken no matter how much pressure I apply when using. I STRONGLY recommend this item.

Exactly and I anticipated
Does what i expected it to do, put lotion on my back. Pad is firm but not too hard. Ridges in pad hold the lotion. Very little absorption of the lotion into the pad, if any. Mine came with 2 extra pads. I suppose they eventually wear out, or something, but I’m not sure how, if you’re using it with reasonable care. Maybe for different lotion types?

The good news about these applicator pads is that they do no absorb any of whatever lotion/cream you’re trying to apply. The downside is that I have to spend much more time rubbing my legs over and over to distribute and rub in the lotion.The pads do work great for applying shaving cream to my legs post hip-replacement surgery, and it is inluable to have the extended reach that the handle allows– though I do wish it was just a bit longer. This tool is slightly less effective for applying lotion, and I do have to scan my legs carefully after applying lotion, as many times there are still smears and gobs of lotion that did not get effectively rubbed in with the stiff pad.
