Pleasantly surprised
I didnât have high hopes for this conditioner to be honest. I was looking for something naturally scented and as clean as I could get. Iâve using other products by this brand and theyâve all been great so I figured I might as well try. The conditioner is on the thinner side and you donât feel much when youâre in the shower. I fully expected my hair to be a tangled mess because the conditioner was so thin but there were zero tangles in my hair and it was SO SOFT after blow drying. I canât wait to try the shampoo now. The lavender smells just like lavender essential oils so itâs light and not overpowering. Great product!

5 stars for conditioner, 1 star for some sellers packaging
I love this conditioner. It smells amazing, rinses out easily, and doesn’t weigh down my fine hair. Most of the time, the packaging on this is the best – it usually comes shrink wrapped to a piece of cardboard inside a smaller box inside the Amazon box. Every so often, I get a seller that just ships it loose in an Amazon box, and then it’s almost guaranteed to leak. Not cool.

Thin and ineffective! Inferior compared to what it was!
I will say 2 nice things about this product first. It’s organic… yay. It smells fantastic… a real lavender scent. Besides these things, I found this conditioner to be absolutely useless and ineffective! I used to buy Avalon Organics shampoo and conditioner regularly some years ago and was VERY satisfied with them. The only reason I stopped using them is because our budget got really tight and I had to buy cheaper products. As I have been able to buy nicer products again, I wanted to give Avalon another try. Feeling I could trust that it was a good product, I made the mistake of buying a really big bottle of it on Amazon, excited to see the good value. First… I was not able to get the pump nozzle to release by turning it, no matter what I tried. So, I just used it by pouring it out the top. I was extremely surprised and disappointed to find that it was a completely different consistency than I remember (but same great smell). When I used it years ago it was nice and thick and I didn’t have to use a huge volume of it to get good coverage for my hair. This stuff was so thin, I had to use handfuls of it just to feel it on my hair at all, and even with a huge volume applied, I felt like there was nothing in my hair. Even what was in my hair just ran and dripped off instead of being retained and letting my hair soak in it a little while. After I rinsed and got out of the shower, I was disgusted to find that, as I tried to brush my hair, not only was my hair dry and tangly, as if it has not been conditioned at all, but I began to notice a waxy build up on my hair brush, which I have never yet experienced! I would return it if my return window was not already closed. Now it will probably just go in the trash… a complete WASTE of money and resources!

Mmmm…
It’s a really good product. However you need to keep in mind that this is not the typical conditioner. It kind of feels weird when you put it on, like watery and not soft. It’s a weird texture. But if you follow the instructions, when you’re washing it, you can feel the results. It’s actually a good product, just weird texture.

thick buy oily
To begin, I would like to note that I definitely like the shampoo much more than the conditioner. I have now been using the combination of Biotin B shampoo and conditioner for about 2 months now. I would also like to explain a little bit about my hair – I have medium shoulder length, straight hair. I have very oily skin, which then gets my hair oily by the end of the day. My scalp also gets very itchy, something I have attributed to an allergy in the “chemical” shampoos (I formerly used Artec by Loreal professional, Joico, and Matrix). I also swim in a chlorinated pool on a fairly regular basis.Pros: organic – need I say more? gentle – I takes away my itch, and I have not had any other problems with dandruff or anything. The first ingredient listed is Aloe.So/So: smell – not super yummy, but not intolerable eitherCons: Tangles!!! No matter how much I use, the conditioner does not detangle my hair. I let my hair dry, almost completely before I comb it (sometimes that’s hard) Oil fields. For some reason, this conditioner really makes my hair oily. Before I even get out of the shower, my hair is so gluey, oily, and just not even nice. I let it just dry that way, to see if it’s only appearing oily while it’s wet; nope. It weighed down my hair, and it just wasn’t as flowy and light. To help, (I really wanted to give the combination a good go) I began not completely rinsing the shampoo out of my hair prior to adding the conditioner. I would then completely rinse the shampoo and conditioner simultaneously. This did alleviate a good chunk of the oil, but my hair still felt weighed down.Quantity to condition. In order to get the conditioner to completely get to all of my hair, I had to use a ton! It is really thick, and hard to spread throughout my hair. I ended up running out of conditioner at the time that my shampoo was half empty. As far as “thickening” goes, I have noticed with using the combination of shampoo + conditioner, that my hair is not necessarily thicker, however, I have noticed that as I wash/condition my hair, less hair falls out during the showering process. I used to have so much hair in the drain after a shower that my boyfriend used to joke, “how are you not bald by now?!?”, but now I only loose maybe 7 or so hairs in the shower. A MAJOR decrease. With less hair falling out, I would certainly say that my hair is able to “thicken”, not on an individual strand level, but overall my head of hair is thicker.Would I purchase again – yes/no. I would purchase the shampoo again (I overall liked the way it cleaned, and made my scalp feel), but I would probably not purchase the conditioner again. I suppose I will continue on the hunt for the perfect shampoo/conditioner combo.

I have long, fine hair that gets weighed down very quickly and is oilier than it is dry. This Avalon Organics clarifying conditioner is great for my hair type: it provides just enough moisture to my hair to stop it from tangling, without building up on my strands and weighing it down. The lemon scent of this conditioner is beautiful. It’s got that light, crisp, bright citrusy lemon scent, with just a touch of sweetness (like a lemon dessert). I use the conditioner after shampooing and leave it in my hair for 2 or 3 minutes before rinsing, and the scent fills my bathroom. The conditioner rinses cleanly from my hair, and I love how light it leaves my hair once it’s dry. This is a clarifying conditioner- it is NOT heavily moisturizing so if you have dry hair this isn’t the product you’re looking for! For oily hair, however, it’s fabulous, as well as for limp hair that is prone to product buildup. I’m really pleased with this conditioner, it works really well for my hair and I will buy it again.

I switched to Avalon Organics and tried this conditioner after learning about the use of formaldehyde (DMDM) in my previous conditioner of choice under the OGX brand. I chose this conditioner because cosmetic ingredient analysis websites show it has no harmful ingredients. The pros are this smells great, leaves my hair feeling fresh and clean. The cons are that this is less thick than conditioner I’m used to, so it’s more on the liquidy side. This takes a little getting used to but overall I’d recommend it.

Wasn’t able to find it in the stores anymore so ordered on here. I have very straight hair but when I use this it seems to put a little curl in it. I like the rosemary smell as well.
