    French Cognac
Really pretty colour but not accurate to the swatch. I was aiming for a light cinnamon/cowboy copper brown and this was more of a bright medium copper red. It would be a good refresher for copper hair but it’s a little unnatural looking for me.

Pigmented but pick the color carefully.
So this has been quite the experience for me.This is the first semi-permanent product I’ve ever tried.. Or the only time I’ve messed with any kind of color not done professionally in a salon.I have a dark blond natural hair and blonde highlights (picture 1)On the bright side, 1 bottle was enough for me to do my whole hair ( which I have a lot of). No unpleasant smell that I noticed. The consistency was easy to work with and I managed to not stain my white bathroom. The negative.. Let’s say the French cognac was more like orange cinnamon (picture 2 p. s. Looks better on the picture).. I’m not sure if it was a me- problem and I didn’t pick the color I wanted right or the color is just not what it’s shown on the picture. Could be all me 😅I followed the instructions, applied thoroughly, cover with a bag, used the blow dryer for 15ish min. Let’s say I was in slight shock when I washed and rinsed as what I saw was not quite what I expected. My hair litteraly looks bright redish – gingery (if I’m trying to be nice) but not in a good way. The color itself is a little flat? hollow? I’m not sure what’s the right term but it’s just not natural looking. More like a spray paint in a way.Naturally, the lighter, previously bleached areas picked up more pigment and I had not hot roots but ends 🔥 very appropriate emoji too.I would say I could see how that product could be used as a permanent color maintaining option as it does deposit a good amount of pigment. However, if you want to change your hair color from blonde to dark red-ish, hazelnut-ish, that’s not what you need. Also, semi – permanent color doesn’t mean it’s gonna last 1-2 washes. It actually is pretty stubborn (I didn’t like it so much that after day 1 I did some 1:1 water:vinegar ratio and close to 10 shampoo rounds afterwards. That helped some with getting the red hues out but still looked gingery (photo 3)So, think this through and pick the right color!!Now I miss my blonde hair but lesson learned!

    Love it!
This was my first time using hair dye and it was super easy with this product. I mixed this color with Adore’s french cognac and ginger dyes. The first picture is the color inside without bright lights. The second picture is the color in the sunlight. I’ll definitely be buying more of this dye 😍

After dying my hair the wrong colour and trying all sorts to get it back to what I wanted, in desperation I turned to Amazon. Why didn’t I do this sooner? The French cognac has given me exactly the colour I wanted; a coppery light auburn. It is also made my hair super shiny so no damage. I did have to wash once more after drying, as there was quite a lot of colour left in the hair and for me it looked over-saturated. But I guess if you want for long bright colour that’s a good thing! So this pic includes shampooing right after colouring and then once more. I haven’t tested to see how many washes this will last, well as long as I use a sulfate free shampoo hope it will keep the colour for sometime. I only used half a bottle though and I have very thick hair so this is still great value.
