BETTER than Denman!
So, my previous brush, which was an authentic Denman, finally gave out as the rubber started to flake off into my hair leaving little red pieces of foam in it. When looking for a replacement, I came across this one as the most likely to give me a similar Denman experience.Well, it’s even better! Upon pulling it out of its packaging, I noticed that it had an extremely similar look and seemed pretty sturdy. But after pulling it through my hair, WOW! I was actually shocked at the quality. The bristles on the Denman aren’t super firm; they have a little bit of ‘give’ to them. Not this brush! If I hadn’t used it, I might think that was a bad thing…I mean, hard bristles? Yeah, but this thing is so well made that the firm bristles work really well with all the other materials of the brush. But the best reason for me to recommend this is because the bristles are so firm that the brush glides through my dense, medium length, curly hair, wet or dry.So take it from someone with some of the THICKEST hair you’ll ever find, this brush is not only the real deal, it’s better! I’d happily recommend this brush, regardless of hair type. As long as you’re using proper products for your hair type and making sure to detangle in a way that makes sense for your hair, this brush can seriously cut down on the time spent doing your hair.10/10 recommend this brush!

Denman makes a great brush. They may look like other brushes but they are different and feel great. My ex, a hairdresser turned me on to Denman back in the ’80’s.

Not a Denman. Bristles are sharp.
I bought this because I searched for âDenman,â and this was the top result, with 15,500 reviews. It looks like a Denman, walks like a Denman, but unfortunately, does not quack like a Denman.PROSâ Great price for this type of brush!â Easy-to-remove cushion makes it east to clean the bristlesâ Nylon bristles create less staticCONSâ The bristles are too sharp. They almost come to a point, unlike Denman bristles, which have slightly rounder tips.â Iâll need to round them off myself. I tried dragging the bristles back and forth across the rounded edge of a wooden drawer. Itâs working but taking a while. Conclusion: I shoulda made sure it was a Denman.
Soo cute, low-key I think it’s rusting on the charm but not the actual bar –
It defines my curls so good
SOOO GOOD OMG!!! It’s best used with a leave in conditioner then brush it out

It was great but hard to use
When I opened the brushes, I noticed a strong chemical smell from the little one, but not the big one. However, the big one had a few bent bristles. I decided to use the big one, and I honestly loved how it defined my curls! It was pretty great while using, except the fact that it was gliding kinda slowly through my hair compared to my other brushes (I have very thick 4c hair). The bristles were very hard, but they wasn’t causing any damage or pain, which is good. After I was done, I was going to clean it just like the directions show. I WAS, but couldn’t without hurting my fingers because the red piece was very hard to slide out. Once I used my strength to push it out, the nails of my thumb bled a little. It was just a little blood so I wiped it off and continued trying to clean this brush cuz after I started bleeding, I knew I needed to return this for a refund. After cleaning the teeth, I started putting them back in but I realized that the bent bristles were putting up a fight and not going in easily. It so tedious and by that point I was mad with the quality of this brush.I don’t know if I was weak or if I received a bad brush, but I can’t have a brush that is hard to clean and has bent bristles. I hate hard it is to clean, because I really loved how it worked in my hair.

Did not like them
Very stiff. I bought them because I thought they would be easy to wash, but I am not even going to use them.

Thereâs really two brushes in there.
When I first saw the box I thought Amazon had screwed up⦠it appeared there was only one brush in the box. The box did not say it contained two brushes. I was bracing to have to call and complain, but to my surprise when I opened the box, both brushes were in there. The travel one is quite small, maybe more of a purse size or for an overnight than something youâd want to be your only brush for a week-long trip. But I canât complain; I believe itâs the correct dimensions. And even the larger one would pack pretty well.
