    better than anything else!
first I must say, if you’re considering buying these then you probably know the unpleasant life of cold sores. these “chapsticks” have literally changed the game for me – I’ve not had an outbreak since switching. They feel like a regular chapstick but with a tiny hint of the numbing sensation you would get from applying abreva, which I appreciate because I can feel it working. I keep them all around (one in my purse, nightstand, in the living room) because you know how important it is to apply as soon as you feel the warmth/tingle coming, so the pack of 3 is great for that. I never feel weird about whipping out this doco chapstick in public because anyone would think it’s a regular balm and it’s so much easier than doing a dollop of the white cream. I can’t explain how grateful I am to have found these and no longer have to carry abreva on me all the time, cold sore free since 2023 let’s goooo

    Great lip balm
Ok being honest I purchased this because it had good ratings but I really didn’t look at the reviews. I was seeking a lip balm that my FSA covered. However this is a freaking gem. It’s thick and really helps keep the lips moisturized. I even ordered more still not knowing it helps with cold sores. I just realized today that it helps with cold sores too. I don’t even get cold sores but guess what? I’ll keep on ordering this product because it’s just that good.

    Use it daily
Works really well. I use it daily. Sometimes can seem drying. But I will never go without it

    Lip Balm
Wanted to try something new, and this did the trick for chapped lips. Not greasy feeling and stays on the lips for an extended period of time without having to constantly reapply.

    25 years of cold sores
My life would have been so much better as a teen if I had this chapstick. It’s the same active ingredient as Abreva and if you know you know. Abreva is EXPENSIVE and it’s not really a product that’s practical to for and use preventatively. Typically I would keep Abreva on hand and try to catch the cold sore right at the start, but it wasn’t a convenient treatment regimen and sometimes I was just too late. This product is PREVENTATIVE. It’s just a chapstick I use fairly regularly and I haven’t had a lip cold sore in over a year since trying this. It works. It will save you time, stress and money.

    The Tubes Are Defective!
This product really works! I love it and would use it every day to prevent cold sores and relieve them when they begin. But have bought it both with Lysine and without—except for one pack the tubes don’t work properly. Once I turned the tubes enough to raise the balm it was impossible to lower the balm down again. Hence the cover tended to get stuck on the product and created a mess. If not for this problem it would give it 5 stars and a perfect review. It’s much less messy than Abreva and if you take Lysine as a supplement you can get the Doco without Lysine which is cheaper. The balm has hardly any scent and no unpleasant taste. If only the tubes worked properly I would be very happy!

    It really does work…
If you’ve had to deal with cold sores as long as I have, you know when you’ve finally found something that actually works. It’s not the “end all, be all” but it does work soooooo much better than script & OTC salves or creams. It will knock down an incident pretty quickly and keep it from getting out of control. If you’re quick enough to react, it’s less than a 36 hour PITA and no major blowout or crusting. Heck, if you use it daily with another sealing or sticky balm to prevent drying, you’re probably never going to get one. I don’t apply daily but probably should. I’m a chapped or sun exposure, erupting situation, so I know my weaknesses. I know from personal experience if I am actively tamping down an event, and forget to apply, things will spiral so I also know it’s a game changer. It’s worth the time and money 10 times over.

I bought this on a gamble when I already had a full blown coldsore and realised that my Abreve was outdated and I couldn’t get a replacement in under 3 days, but this was available for same-day.Immediate relief. I can’t say whether or not it helped it heal faster than it would have otherwise, but it did heal up quickly and this kept it moist enough that it wasn’t nearly as uncomfortable as usual.since then, I have had one for sure start but applied this right away and it didn’t develop further.Since then i have just replaced all my regular chapstick-type stuff with this for daily use and have not seen another one despite an unusually intense time since then, which would normally see at least one flare up.I bought a second box of 3 so that I have one at home, in my bag, at work, and in my jacket pocket. The flavour is mild and it makes a decent lip moisturizer.Sometimes it feels really slick on my lips, I don’t know why that is but it’s not uncomfortable or annoying so I’m fine with it, especially as it works.I’m thrilled that I don’t have to keep hunting for an effective solution, avoiding ever having another one of those things actually looks possible.

Smooth, mild taste, fast acting.I’m someone who gets a cold sore every 4-6 weeks. Decided to try this stuff and put it on Day 2 of outbreak, as soon as I got it in the mail. On the next morning my cold sore was visibly smaller and dry, when usually for me Day 3-4 is the wet and weeping stage. My only critique is that this could potentially be wateful. Anybody with long term cold sores knows that once a chap/lipstick touches an active cold sore, that product is garbage. My solution for this was to use a Q-tip to scrape some and apply to my lips, and then I’ll plan to use the chapstick normally without a cold sore present.

Trust me this is the best preventative measure for cold sores out there. I’ve used abreva in the past and it never worked for me. Tried applying lip balm all the time but it’s just moisturizing only and doesn’t prevent them. I was so desperate I went to get prescribed medication for my cold sores but it’s very damaging to liver so I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use them, and also it only works after breakout. I’ve been struggling with cold sore for my entire life and usually have a breakout every month. I apply this 1-2 a day, it doesn’t only keep cold sores away it also help them heal so much faster and keep them minimal. So I’m not so worried about it’s strawberry smell or wax like consistency (only when it’s cold and will disappear once warmed up) cause these are not a problem for me. Thank youuuuu
