As a man in my mid-to-late 40s, ear hair and nose hair are a constant battle.Given the option of eliminating one of those constant struggles, I went all-in on this Viking Revolution nose wax kit.The instructions do a good job of guiding you through step-by-step in case you go into the process with a little hesitation.Oh, and in case you have upper lip hair, they’ve included handy mustache stickers so you don’t accidentally get rid of hair you want to keep. I appreciate the inclusion of the stickers but they’re more like a placeholder or shield since I couldn’t get mine to accurately hold in place without keeping my hand on it.The instructions say it takes about 2-5 minutes for the wax to melt and I’d say that’s fairly accurate. You want it to heat up but you don’t want it too be so hot that it burns when applied. I think I had my wax ready to use after about 2-2:30 minutes in the microwave.After wax is ready, take an applicator, dip inside and hold it upside down to make sure the wax stays in place and isn’t runny. After that, insert into your nostril and wait 2 minutes. The wax will harden quickly once you get it in place so keep that in mind.I’m gonna be honest with you. Pulling out the applicator after the 2 minutes was rough. There was a decent amount of hair on the applicator but I used the included nose wax wipes to do a thorough cleaning.Honestly, I got a lot more hair out using the wipes after taking the applicator out. I wanted to make sure that any remaining wax in my nostrils was completely gone. Using the wax wipes is when I was really able to eliminate any residual hairs that didn’t come off when I pulled the applicator out.I wouldn’t recommend doing both nostrils at the same time. I did one nostril and then repeated the steps in the other one afterward.I think the more you use this wax kit, the better you’ll get at learning how to apply the applicator so that more hair comes off on that initial pull.I’m not going to say it hurt per se but my eyes definitely watered afterwards.All that being said, it works. It took out a noticeable amount of hair and, to be honest, I felt like I could breath a little easier through my nose after I finished.This is a well put-together set but it does require a little trial and error in order to master the process.Other than the mustache stickers not holding and having to learn how to get the proper technique, I have no problems recommending this wax kit for those, like me, that struggle with a little overgrowth.It’s not only great for personal use but it would make for a fun novelty gift item too.

Waxing nose hair at home is always a bit masochistic, but if you’re a hairy person like me, you know it’s a necessary evil. I’ve used other wax kits in the past, and this one was very similar to previous kits. Also, I’m a female, and I would like to point out that this kit can be used by both men and women, even though it’s marketed towards men.This comes with a giant wax pot, and plenty of applicators for future uses (24 applicator sticks). I wish it came with wooden popsicle sticks to stir the wax, but if you have some on hand at home, these would be good to use. You can also use the end of an applicator sticks for stirring, but it WILL get messy.The instructions provide a really great outline of how to use this kit. The warming time listed is vague (2-5 minutes) because it will depend on your microwave, and I guess my microwave is weak because I don’t know how many intervals of 30 seconds I ended up doing. Of course, the wax was much too hot once it finally melted, and needed a bit of time to cool. The applicators themselves are great for both small and large nostrils, and once the wax is the correct temperature and piled onto the applicator, it’s quite easy to use. I used 3 applicators per nostril (6 total) to remove all of the hair.I would recommend queuing up a wax wipe (maybe par-opening one of the packs?) while you’re waiting the 2 minutes for your applicator to set, because the packaging is very slick and they’re too hard to open if you wait until the last minute when you really need them. I personally did not care for the scent of the wax or the scent of the wipes, but it’s not wildly offensive by any means. I honestly don’t like the smell of most wax.This kit is a good value compared to other kits, because they’re too hard amount of applicators received and the size of the wax jar will ensure that you get quite a few uses out of it.
