You have to give it a little time to reach its peak
I use a variety of oils and like to create my own blends. This was my first time using pitchouli as Iâve been always turned off by the smell of tobacco, at first I didnât like it, and the scent faded quickly after applying. I considered returning it and then decided to give it some time . I found that leaving oils in the sun sort of settles the scent and intensifies it. I left it on the dash of my car for about an week and WOW! I love it ! Itâs the perfect smoky undertone that pairs perfectly with amber and/or vanilla musk . I can imagine it would pair well with anything earthy and subtle. Itâs pleasant, tantalizing, lingers and lasts all day. If you want to smell like your favorite head shop – you need this!!I get tons of compliments and random sniffs from my friends. Iâm glad I gave it some time and Iâll be purchasing more oils soon !

Oh, the memories this scent brings!
I LOVE the smell of patchouli and this roll-on scent delivers! It’s a strong, pungent, earthy smell that brings back the memories of our local head shop I used to visit when I was young. I love the convenience of this roll-on and feel you get a good amount for the money. My one negative is that I wish the scent would last longer. Otherwise, I’m so glad I found this brand and will reorder when it’s time. If you are hesitating to order, just do it! I also ordered the “Love” scent but I have not received it yet. If it’s anything like the patchouli I’ll be good to go!

It smells like cooking oil!
I have been wearing Egyptian Goddess for 25+ years. I noticed a decrease in its potency maybe 10 years ago but it was still ok. Once in a while the local head shop would haveâthe originalâ; they closed recently. My daughter sent me some from way across the country and it was the cooking oil version. I recently bought this and it is greasy smelling; not even reminiscent of Egyptian goddess. So disappointing. I contacted Auric Blends by email. They ignored. Sad to have to say goodbyeâ¦.Egyptian Goddess is attached to some of my most cherished events and moments in my life.

Not the same as Iâve purchased before
I absolutely loved my original Auric Blends Sandalwood Vanilla scented oil rollers. Itâs become one of my favorite scents, and it would last hours using just a small amount. What I just received today is not like the original ones I purchased a few years ago. The older ones had a richer, more woodsy, warmer sandalwood blend, and itâs heavenly. The older one I have left is also the golden color pictured in the product listing on Amazon, and it was the same color at the time of my original purchase. The newer ones are basically clear, and instead of that addictive, soothing depth to the fragrance, there is almost a fruity undertone that is not my favorite. Upon opening the different bottles and sniffing between them, the 2 newer ones pictured and the older golden brown one I had smell entirely different. I have worn this almost every day for the last few years, so the difference is pretty obvious to me. Itâs not what I had hoped for fragrance wise, but it is a subtle difference you may notice if you have loved this one as much as I have over the years. I have several other Auric Blends roller oils, and I almost get a hint of the Coco Mango one they had when smelling the Sandalwood Vanilla now. That one always reminded me of a urinal cake (sorry ð«£), because it was so intense, and I feel like my new rollers have a hint of that, almost, when first opened and applied. The fruity notes do seem to fade a little as itâs worn, but the newer ones still lack that richness my older rollers have, and the scent is still different. Itâs still a pretty and decent scent overall, but itâs not one I will probably buy again, unfortunately, unless the formula changes to more closely resemble the older batches.

What happened here? While the initial impact of the Amber Patchouli fragrance remains the same, the oil in my recently purchased vial, as noted by others, is a pale imitation of the formerly dark and syrupy juice. And the diminishment doesnât end there. The scentâs longevity is a ghost of its former self. It simply evaporates from my skin, leaving behind the merest sweetness only an hour or two after application. This might not be a bad thing, since applying the original formula with too much abandon resulted in a cloud of head-shop hippie funk of amazing persistence. Restraint recommended. No danger of overdoing it and offending nearby patchouli haters with this one. This is a sentimental fragrance for me, and I am still able to transport myself to a different time and place by rolling a bit on my wrist and sniffing, but it seems a shame that it has been so thoroughly tamed.

Bought this as a blind buy since Iâd heard so much about it. The first day it smelled amazing. The second day it still smelled amazing. Now on the third day it smells like NOTHING! Apart from a disgusting smell of glue or some kind of chemical. I thought my nose maybe was getting too used to the notes but my boyfriend couldnât sssmell anything eitherâ¦besides the glue-like smell. I am beyond disappointed since I actually thought I had found the alluring and mysterious scent I have been looking for :((

For all of you disappointed folks who think this is no good because you cannot smell it – you need to know that a certain percent of the population is just simply anosmic tp musk – in other words – you can’t smell it. It’s sad for you, but I guarantee that if you wear this you will get lots of compliments from other lucky people who CAN smell it! Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess is one of the best musks out there – take my word for it! If you love musk and are lucky enough to be able to smell real musk – you will love this. If you buy it and can’t smell it – don’t blame the company. It’s just you! (Sorry, but remember, not all cats get off on catnip, either. It’s sort of the same thing…)
