Maybe this works like a soap, but not very lubricating
I was excited to try HS’s new shave cream with my HS razor, but was disappointed when I actually used it. While it has a very nice consistency and fragrance, the moment I started using it I found that it made my shaves increasingly painful. This was even with using a pre-shave oil. I am not one to write reviews frequently, but I have never experienced this with any shaving cream. If this is reformulated, then maybe it’ s worth giving it a shot. Otherwise, I suggest buying a different shaving cream.

A pea sized amount was enough for thick lather that gave me a great, zero irritation shave. Excellent. Henson rules.

Strong scent.
I was really surprised how strong this shaving cream smells. Itâs good at its job and has clean ingredients, but the smell is too much (and pretty feminine/flowery). Wish they had a scent free versionFor that reason, I wonât be buying again

Had I realized how small this was I would not have bought it. $20 for such a small tube of cream thatâs no better than the cheap stuff at other stores. Not worth it.

Have only used it twice, but it seems a decent shaving soap so far. I think the tube may be small enough to take on planes, etc., which if true would be handy when travelling.

I’m super-happy with this shave cream. It’s not a big tube, but you need just a tiny amount to make the shaving process smoother, closer and more comfortable. Plus I’m happy to support Hensen with some recurring revenue for them, as opposed to the one-time revenue they get from their excellent shaver. 🙂

I bought this to use with my Henson AL13. At $26 a tube I would expect it to out-perform the $10 Gillett or Harryâs foam and cream, and it does.The directions say apply to the face using fingers or a brush so first shave was fingers and for the second shave I used my brush.Fingers to face: I began with a fresh blade and about a week of growth. The scent is okay, but the shave is not as good as I expected. There wasnât any irritation, but that isnât a problem for me with the cheap stuff either. The cream didn’t coat my face and I had a pretty bad bleeder.Using brush: Again a weeks growth and fresh blade. This was much better and I recommend any users go with the brush. It coats the skin and protects from cuts and nicks. The directions should not mention applying with fingers. It just doesn’t apply well that way. Second and third shaves with brush applied cream and I find this is now my preferred shave cream. If only it wasn’t so expensive.With fingers I would give this cream 2 stars. With a brush 5 stars. Overall 4 stars.
