WORKS AMAZINGLY!
For years I tried various natural deodorants and I was always let down. Either I smelled by the end of the day (and forget about making it through a workout), or my armpits had red irritation bumps, or they were sticky. Then I tried Hey Humans and I finally had everything I expected from deodorant!! I workout HARD and I never smell. On days I don’t workout, it lasts almost 2 days before I need to reapply. I have used this deodorant consistently for 3 years and I swear by it. The only way it differs from conventional deodorant is if it gets too warm and you try to apply it normally, it will put way too much on your armpit. So when the deodorant gets too warm (rare – typically if I am traveling and leave it in the hot car or camping and sleep with it in my sleeping bag) I just use my finger and take a little bit and rub it in. Not my favorite thing, but worth it for how amazing this deodorant performs. If this product ever goes away it will be one of the biggest travesties.

Effective, smells great- terrible application
This deodorant gave me some serious mixed feelings. Above all else I love this Coconut-Mint scent! It is fresh and clean, and the formula is effective for a large chunk of the day, which is really rare for me to find in a natural deodorant. It lasts the entire day through without reapplying, which is amazing. It also left no white powdery residue which was very appreciated. The packaging is super eco-friendly, which gives serious bonus points, as it is totally plastic-free, which is a very important aspect for me. However, the tube is very difficult to push up, and the cardboard edges started quickly curling inward, making it hard to get the cap back on, and sending little blue paper flakes onto the deodorant. This itself did not bother me too terribly much but was definitely inconvenient. I would absolutely take the inconvenience for the eco-friendly aspect, however.The major issue for me was actually the formula itself. As effective as it is, it is super soft and crumbly, and you cannot just apply it directly without making a big mess and leaving crumbly debris all over the armpit area. I was able to deal with this by rubbing it in with my hands after application, or conversely just applying directly with my hands, as the heat from my hands seemed to help it melt a little better. Afterwards, my hands would be super greasy, and I would have to wash them really well to avoid getting it on anything that I would touch afterwards.Unfortunately, presumably because of the extremely soft formula, this was used up at least 4x as quickly as a bar of similar size. Usually, my deodorant lasts for what feels like forever, and this was gone in no time, even though the amount in the package was the same as my usual go to bars which are much firmer. I could not help but feel a lot of it was probably wasted just on my hands alone. If I had the option, I would probably give this three and a half stars. If the formula were firm and went further for the price of it, it would easily be my go-to, and I would likely purchase only this. As it stands, I am pretty torn if I will repurchase again anytime soon.

Delicate packaging mars otherwise good product
Like others, I’m trying to reduce the amount of plastic I contribute to the environment, which is what initially made me try the “Hey Humans” deodorant brand.PROS: The deodorant itself smells great (kind of like the common “Spring Rain” profile that you’ll find with dish soaps), and has a good texture. Not quite “dry,” but certainly not a wet gel either.CONS: Okay, the cardboard packaging needs work. It might seem weird to dock my rating a whole two stars for something so trivial, but the packaging has failed to the degree that it’s made it impractical to use the deodorant.Within the first few uses, the little cardboard circle in the “cap” part pulled away from the rest of the cap, probably due to the vacuum created whenever one pulls out the deodorant. Okay, fine, no big deal.Shortly after, I noticed that the edges of the cardboard around the lip of the deodorant itself were peeling away. Since this increased the diameter of the bottom half, it made it very difficult to jam it back into the cardboard top.Finally, a couple days after that, the wider part of the bottom that you’re supposed to grip onto to pull out the deodorant–well, it came off in my hand. And so I then had a heck of a time trying to actually free the deodorant from its cardboard prison.In the end, I just put the exposed deodorant in a ZIPLOCK bag, and threw away the cardboard top. I’ll continue to use it via baggy.Again, the deodorant itself is good. But it’s nearly impossible to use as is.

Good Brand
Unfortunately can’t find this brand in actual stores anymore, we liked it. Effective, affordable, and greatly appreciate the no waste packaging. The scents are not my favorite, but at least they are natural and unique.
