    Works great!
This is my first time ever using box die, genuinely. I was terrified that I was going to mess up my hair so bad, I have curly hair and I had really messed up my hair when I had bleached it when I was younger to get this caramel color and it’s just now getting healthy again years later and as much as I don’t wanna mess up my curls, I love when my hair is lighter so I was like let’s just try it, I know that my hair does not color very well, especially without bleach so I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I also have a red undertone in my hair and let me tell you this was supposed to be like caramel brown and my hair is red. I should’ve known, but I’m sure for other people. This comes out the exact color I’ve looked at other people online and seeing that it came out the exact color I think it’s just my hair so buy it. It’s great really easy step-by-step process if you’ve never done it before!

    It worked
I have very dark brown hair but I have been trying to turn it red for YEARS. I have tried multiple different red dyes and it is barely noticable. I’m happy to say that this color can be SEEN and not just in the sunlight. It’s very easy to use and smells great, unlike the other ones that give you a headache or make your eyes water. There’s an oil that is included for styling your hair…. not to say that it smells bad but it’s not for me.

    Dye really WORKS
This product really worked! Came on time and not damaged. I read the comments before I purchased this and saw other people said their bottles came dented at the sides, but that’s how the bottle should be. The dents are for grip and you can see that by the design at the sides.I have 3c/4a very dark brown/black (looks black but I wouldn’t say jet black) hair and my hair took the color very well and quickly. I believe it might be because I have high porosity hair.My hair has always been dry due to it being high porosity but after using the dye I didn’t really notice a difference in dryness. Maybe slightly at the tips of my hair but that’s to be expected because any type of dye/intense heat will damage your hair no matter what and the tips of your hair is the oldest and therefore the weakest. As soon as I washed the dye out and shampooed and conditioned I made sure to go in with the Shea moisture manuka honey intensive hydrating hair mask (amazing hydrating product FYI) mixed with the argan oil conditioner and oil that the dye came with (trust it’s no where near enough for us curly girls, mix it with your favorite deep conditioner or hydrating/repairing mask) and focused it on the tips of my hair and worked up. (I heated it for about 20 sec in the microwave)In terms of losing my curls I definitely didn’t! They were popping with the dye in and popping with the dye out! No damage there… Thank God lol. I’ll do a protein treatment soon.I used 1 box of the light caramel brown and 1 box of the honey blonde mixed together. I really should have gotten 3 boxes. I wasn’t able to get all of the roots but I tried my very best to hide that. It was my first time dying after all, but oh well. I’ll just re-dye after it grows out.FYI the price for one of these boxes is a complete rip off, it’s $5 and some change at a beauty supply store and Walmart and it was about $12 ish dollars when I purchased it, I don’t know why it went up to $17.Pro tip: When dying your hair, start from the MIDDLE of the strand and move the product DOWN to your ENDS. Leave about a 1/2 inch of your roots undyed. Wait 10-15 maybe 20 min after all the product is evenly distributed throughout the mid to ends of the hair, THEN go back and do your roots leaving the HAIR LINE LAST. You do this because your roots and hairline dye the fastest, so if you just dye the whole thing from roots to ends, your roots will end up lighter than the rest of your hair.

    Nice color
The color was really close to the color on the box; it all depends on what color you’re starting with; the color that I started with made it a lot easy for me to come out with a nice color and, the color got a little bit lighter as well so I was happy with it and the conditioning and the softness was a pleasant surprise.

    Color
Love this color, not too red, it’s more a burgundy color it’s perfect for fall. It takes the roots of your hair really well too.

There is nothing intense about this red
So I’ve been wanting to dye my hair red in preparation for a movie that comes out soon and wanted to match the theme. I am the type of person who loves adorning bold colors, so my goal was a very vibrant red. It’s been trial and error to find a replacement shade for a different brand I was using that is no longer on here, but I reverted back to using this brand because it’s my go-to for when I dye my hair ginger in the fall. That was a mistake. My hair is very dark naturally, so I always use 40v liquid developer, which is what I use when going ginger. I have no idea what the problem was; I followed the instructions like I normally do. Instead of the “intense red” I thought I’d be getting, I got a disappointing burgundy. Also, my roots remain an even darker burgundy. I’m so incredibly disappointed. I was going to do long red braids for my style of choice, and I don’t have the proper hair color to do that. Granted, you get what you pay for with box-dye, but it’s still pretty shameful to advertise one color and the result is completely different.

The hair dye is great only issues was the missing shampoo out of both boxes. Which was a shame.
