Powerful color deposit. Prep your space appropriately for application! Lots of pro tips below…
For the last 18 months, I used regular Teal Klenditioner to maintain my professional Teal dye job. My hairstylist recommended this brand specifically. I was very happy with the results. After after a year and a half, I finally stripped out the blue and went purple. I decided to try the brunette version, as I usually mix half Colored conditioned and half Prose conditioner to maintain. I suspected the “for brunettes” version of purple was a denser dye, so I could stretch it further. (There’s no brunette version of teal.)I was right. But also, I underestimated how powerful these purple dyes are…When I used the regular teal, despite being very careful, I would occasionally find a tiny spot of blue in my bathroom. I was delighted that it wiped off my tile and granite without leaving a mark, even when I was dry dying with full strength Teal to really rejuvenate the vibrancy. Even if I found a spot the next day! (These were pinhead sized dots, and your tile/granite might be different. So still be very careful and looks for spots when cleaning up!) I would sometimes find blue spots in the acrylic tub or shower surround. But I realized it was mostly hard water spots that held the dye and a magic eraser would remove them. The regular teal would dye my hands and skin, but I could usually scrub it off in the shower. Although my hands and nails could be a bit Smurf-y for a few washes. I always used gloves when dry dyeing, including rinsing, because I used much more product and it would leave my hands blue for days. The Teal would leave sky blue streaks on white towels if you dried your hair normally. If I forgot to bring my hair towel to a hotel, I would just scrunch each section of hair with a different bit of the towel, and it wouldn’t accumulate enough to be visible.Once I switched to Purple for brunettes, the stakes got a bit higher. I did a dry dye (applying the conditioner like hair dye to dry hair and leaving 30-60 minutes for intense color deposit) in my newly renovated bathroom. I had gotten a bit complacent with my Teal. Somehow I managed to fling a small glob of purple on the wall. I went to wipe it with a bit of TP and got a smudge on the toilet. And later on the white plastic bidet. And on the porcelain tile. And another smudge on a different part of the wall. I was really a mess! I also had purple streaks across my neck, but wasn’t worried because the Teal always came off with a wet wipe once I finished applying. That was not the case with purple. Gentle exfoliation helped, but it took 2 showers to fully remove. The purple came off the tile just fine. I panicked when it didn’t come off the toilet or the bidet immediately, but a bit of Lysol with bleach saved them! It did not come off the paint, but we are going to do final touch ups later anyway. After nearly destroying my brand new bathroom, I started being much more careful. I used 1/3 color condition to 2/3 Prose and got excellent maintenance saturation. There were a few times that I found dots of diluted conditioner on the shower curtain or tile, but it came off with microfiber or magic eraser. A bit more scrubbing was needed but no cleaning products.I use vinyl gloves to apply and rinse in the shower, or my nails stay purple for days.I recommend Press N Seal to cover your workspace when dry dyeing. And a brush applicator to avoid dyeing your scalp. In the shower, I hold my hair in one hand and apply the diluted conditioner directly to the hair. This reduces spatter. This purple WILL bleed onto towels, no matter how well you rinse. I happen to have nice purple towels already, so no issue. But anything in a light color will get purple streaks. Purple fades faster than teal, but blue is notoriously permanent. So no surprise there.Overall, I don’t mind being a bit more cautious to get really vibrant color. (To clarify, my hair was bleached nearly white and then permanently dyed a deep, rich purple. But it also gives good purple coverage on the light brown root. The virgin root fades way faster than the purple lengths.)

Ring out your hair first before applying
This has been my go to to upkeep my balayage pink hair. Works best if I ring out my hair first before applying and then I tie my hair in a bun and continue with the rest of my shower before rinsing with tepid water. I wish they just had flat closed tops as a refill rather than a pump that breaks when delivered. Also, I cut the container once it gets to the end. I get at least 3 more washes out of it when I do that. And I have hair to my elbows.

    Works on balayaged hair
More pink than rose gold. Need a lot to completely deposit color but works. Couldn’t get the pump to work, threw it away. It will look washed out. People will bring up how it looks faded even though it was applied the night before. Comes out after one wash with normal conditioner.

    Perfect for beginners!
For beginning at hair coloring and for fast color, this works like a charm! Also a great price. Wish they’d made had more colors for brunettes.

Works great on brown hair with highlights
My hair stylist might kill me, but I got bored and wanted a fun change so used this on my colored and highlighted hair. I use it as a conditioner on wet hair after standard shampoo, probably leave it on for 10-15 minutes the first time, 5-10 when reapplying every other wash for brighter color, and then rinse thoroughly. It was brighter than I anticipated but not super bright, and my hair feels good. TBD on how well or if it will fully rinse out.

    Not what I expected
I bought this last year and I’m just getting to it now after being red for a long time. The color goes on purple and rinses out purple but my hair looks red. I don’t know if it’s because I waited so long to use it. It also looked like it was fading fast even though my first application was on Saturday and I just did my second application today. I think I’ll stick to the brand I usually get from now on.

    Results depend on method!
I was nervous after reading reviews because I didn’t want clown red or orange, I wanted my old highlights to take on a true rose-gold, pink, or strawberry blonde tint, and a subtle warmth for my overall medium brown. Based on reviews with pictures, I decided to apply to DRY hair for 10 MINUTES ONLY, and go from there, since this product is meant to build over multiple uses. As you can see in my after pictures, I got exactly what I wanted! My old highlights are a pretty, peachy pink, and my brown hair that has copper and chocolate lowlights took the warm tint somewhat better than my virgin roots. Color did not take at all to my grays, but I wasn’t expecting it to. I plan to repeat use over my next couple washes, on wet hair, just to make sure it doesn’t fade too quickly, and maybe add a *little* more color, then alternate with the Clenditioner without color to maintain. Product does seem to clean and condition well, but after rinsing with cool water I followed up with Boldplex deep conditioner, as well as my usual Ouai hair oil, and Redken frizz spray, blew out, curled with a wand, and brushed. Very happy with results, but encourage careful thought about how to use this product depending on your hair and desired results.UPDATE: after first use, I went a couple days without shampooing (used dry shampoo in my roots once), then I applied this product (rose gold for brunettes) to dry hair again, again for about 10 minutes. Rinsed and conditioned with Ouai conditioner for fine hair. The blonde highlights seem like they have LESS color now, not more! (Car photos from today.) Which is really weird because I have not shampooed at all since first use, and have applied again! I’m still happy with the look, and totally ok with the variation in the depth of the color and how it seems like it will change constantly depending on how I’ve reused/skipped the product, shampooed/not shampooed, what products I’ve used or not, etc. Just very strange and inconsistent with other reviews that say with multiple use the color intensifies. I guess I won’t follow with the Ouai conditioner…. Apparently this is a process of trial and error. Looking forward to trying the purple after I’ve enjoyed various iterations of the rose gold. Might try mixing them first!

Pretty impressed with this, has taken the edge off my greys whilst I grow it out. Doesn’t stain your hands, just wash them with soap straight after.

Justo lo que quería! Funcionó perfecto. Me encantó el color. No dura más que 1 o 2 lavadas pero por algo no es permanente.

Works and I love it. I am a natural red head. Dyed my hair brown then added this colour conditioner. Lovely colour.
