Perfect non-damaging toner for blonde hair
I am on my third tube of platinum pearl and I can’t express how much I love this stuff. When I bleach my roots I end up with level 9 yellow hair, which I then use Shades EQ to turn into more of an icy/gray blonde. But once that toner starts fading, the yellow creeps back in and that’s when I start using this product.I leave it on for at least an hour under a shower cap, which does leave just a hint of lavender in my hair but I like that and intentionally leave it on for way longer than directed because I want that hint of color. It does darken up my blonde due to leaving it on for so long but that’s the look I’m going for. The smell is pleasant and my hair is SOOOO soft after I rinse, despite all the abuse I put it through with bleaching and toners.Also, I scoured the reviews before purchasing and noticed a lot of the people who included pictures and complained about the product “doing nothing” used the wrong color. They either started off with hair that was too dark for the product to have an effect, or used the incorrect color to neutralize.So for the first issue of using this product on dark hair – this is a color-depositing product, it does not lift at all so if your hair starts off DARKER than the color that is coming out of the tube, your results will be almost imperceptible, or you will get no results at all. If you use blush BLONDE on brown hair, guess what – it’s not going to do anything, because it is impossible to see a lighter color on dark hair. The color may be there, but you won’t see it. Look at the color of the model’s hair on the box – if your hair is significantly darker than that, chances are you will not see significant results.I will say, some of the before/afters in the product photos are misleading in my opinion, which I’m not a fan of because it gives people unrealistic expectations. Like the plum color most certainly will not turn truly black hair a bright purple like the photos claim, especially if it’s virgin hair unless maaaaybe you’re in very bright direct sunlight, but that’s another discussion.If you are attempting to neutralize undertones, you have to choose the correct color based on what tone you are attempting to neutralize. Look at a color wheel. Purple neutralizes yellow, blue neutralizes orange. If you have orange brassy roots and use purple, it won’t work. If you have yellow brass and use blue, same deal. And you cannot fix a bad bleach job with a product like this – if you do not lift your hair enough and end up with really orange roots or streaks, you need to bleach again, a color-depositing conditioner is not going to fix a bad bleach job. Your hair must be light enough for the conditioner to be able to neutralize. I do wish the products were labeled with what color the product actually is because that might help but do some research and choose the color that is appropriate for your hair, or do another round of bleach if your hair can tolerate it. But this product is not going to magically fix hair that was not lifted properly.This product also must be applied COMPLETELY evenly, otherwise you will get streaks. It takes me a good 20 minutes to work this through my semi-thick boob-length hair because if you don’t fully saturate every strand, guess what – those strands will not be affected and you will end up with streaky hair. I haphazardly slapped this in my hair the first time I used it and I did end up with streaks. I’ve since learned my lesson and I section my hair into 6 parts and apply to each section until it is fully saturated from root to tip. And if certain parts of your hair are more damaged (aka pourous) the color will stick to those parts more as well. I start with the hair growing from the nape of my neck since it’s less damaged, then move up my scalp and do the hair growing from the crown of my head last, which gets more abuse from the flat iron and therefore is more porous. Ends tend to be more damaged/porous compared to roots, so if that is a concern for you, apply to hair closer to the scalp first and slowly work your way down.

I have used several gloss products including clear ones and colored ones. They didn’t really give my hair that much shine and made my hair coarse.But when I was applying this one, I felt my hair was pretty smooth already. After I rinsed it, I used hair mask. I know I probably shouldn’t use it right after glossing as I need to rinse my hair again, but I did it anyway.After I dried my hair, I was so amazed how shiny and smooth my hair became. My hair is literally sparkling under the light. I haven’t seen this shine on my hair since I was a little child. And it feels so incredibly silky. I can’t stop touching my hair.I’m so happy to find this product, I will definitely buy it again.

Leave it in an hour to cover grays
I’m very dark haired with a good amount of gray, and this is my favorite product. However, to get the grays to take up the color, I need to leave it on for about an hour. I use about 1/3 of the bottle (my hair is pretty thin and fine, which i think helps the grays take up the color), put on a shower cap, and let it sink in for an hour. The grays don’t get as dark as the rest of my hair, but they take on a nice gold tone, and the contrast between them and the rest of my hair is greatly reduced. Plus, the rest of my hair gets that fabulous sheen and color boost. I love this product, and I can use it every two weeks or every six months, with no roots!

I got my hair done at salon. I loved my hair. I needed my roots done and for some reason the Hairdresser didnât tone it. She didnât think it needed being done, but I think the lighting was different. Iâm not sure but when I got home and I was talking to my daughter on FaceTime. We both realized that it needed some kind of toning it was, just that little bit of yellowish brassy that just didnât look natural so I remembered that I had bought some of this stuff from LâOreal so I decided well Iâm gonna put it on and it said that it had depending on how long your hair was three sometimes even more Times using it I left it on for 10 minutes and then all I did was rinse it off and washed it with them only the product on it. I did not use anything else. I just scrubbed and scrubbed and rinsed off and I came out of the shower, dried my hair, and I looked and my hair was platinum blonde there was not one single yellow in it at all at first it was a real shock. I called my daughter on FaceTime and we both laughed so hard but as we were laughing and it started drying and we realized that actually it looked really good and then when I did it up, I made it a messy look because my hair is short. I did a messy chic and then I messaged her again on FaceTime and she said oh my God mama I love it. This is incredible. Itâs absolutely incredible. You need to use it on the right tone. It has to be where your hair is at a certain level of color. You have to know the colour levels if your hair is brown it wonât do anything. It has to be a light enough blonde and must be blonde in order for it to do anything at all then when you use it watch it do it magic I use it once a week because we have hard water here and I still use my purple shampoo, but I use my purple shampoo with the salon shampoo because I donât want my hair to get dry and so far is working very well and once a week I donât use a lot of this stuff because my hair is short and for me a little long way I use it with my hair, damp wet. I make sure that itâs not dripping. I get it wet and then I dry it off of the towel and then I add this magical Treatment and it sometimes I do it for five minutes depending on how much I think I need sometimes I add from one up to the 10 minutes but no more than 10 minutes. I donât want my hair to be purple. I just want it to be a nice white blonde and I am enjoying it eventually Iâm gonna be getting Smudges when my hair grows longer and I am hoping that while it actually will because the roots much is gonna be a dark blonde or a light brown so it wonât do anything to it so itâll still be OK. Iâm extremely happy youâve got light blonde hair that tends to go brassy get this stuff. You will never regret it.

I had doubts this would be as good as it sounded but it is!I gradually darken my hair by using it as a conditioner and it leaves my hair in good condition, not drying at all.Great way of subtley darkening hair naturally.

Iâve always been high maintenance when it comes to my hair. Iâm starting to budget and wanted to do some in home treatments rather than spending hundreds at the salon. I tried this once so far and left it in for 15 minutes in clear. My hair hasnât felt this light and hydrated ever. I already have pretty healthy hair and take good care of it so I wasnât expecting a drastic change. But to my surprise it was a huge difference. My hair is shiny especially when light hits it. Feels soft and light. Hooked on this! Going to restock asap.
