Good value, easy to remove
While I don’t know what makes this specific formulation different than the original microwave, hard wax, it worked incredibly well for me. It’s easy to heat and melt, easy to apply, and easy to remove.

Not impressed
I finally got a chance to try this GiGi Microwave Tattoo Hard Wax + Essentials. I do not have a tattoo, but post-chemo, I like to wax my face of peach fuzz. I know the brand name is well-recognized and trusted for waxing supplies. I figured that the “tattoo” version was probably a good choice for sensitive facial skin, and I was excited about a wax that could be popped in the microwave without preplanning for time to warm my usual slow wax.Personally, I was unimpressed. I heated the medicinal-smelling wax for the initial 30 and then several cycles of 15 seconds each with no visible change. This is where I didn’t understand the instructions, because apparently you have to use the included flimsy wooden spatulas (a couple of which split before I could even get them out of the packaging) to bust through the top layer and reveal the wax underneath has been melting while the top appeared unchanged. THIS IS IMPORTANT, because if I didn’t finally realize that you had to break through, I could have overheated the wax and created a dangerous cocktail. As it was, the molten wax underneath was almost impossible to mix with the solid crust, and no matter how much I stirred, I had just a gloopy mess that never approximated the smooth, melted texture I get from hard wax heated in a warmer. Not only that, but stirring it was almost impossible with the thin wooden spatula, and it ended up making a big mess in the tiny container (and all down the sides). Once I got it reasonably mixed, I attempted to slather some on my cheek, only to watch it peel right off again. I wasn’t convinced reheating it was the right move, so I persevered, and finally spread it on and waiting a moment, but was sad (and unsurprised) when it lifted off with no resistance…and no hair. At this point, I was frustrated and gave up, plugging in my warmer. Was it user error? Maybe, but if so, I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person and i was working with a new product off the only instructions provided (on the lid), so more detail would have been appreciated. All I know is I ordered this hoping to save time with a quick waxing solution, and ended up with frustration and an even longer waxing session than I had bargained for, and longer than if I hadn’t wasted time trying to use this. I will still order other products from this brand, but plan to avoid the microwaveable version in the future.

Wax
This wax set is great for beginners it is warmed in the microwave so you donât need a warming machine. I have a lower voltage microwave so it took longer for me to get the wax warm. This was the first time I tried a wax that doesnât require strips and this product is effective and easy to use. The kit comes with applicators and a product to use after waxing.

Not worth it
The whole process to heat it up, and then use it before it gets too cold is frustrating. I felt a wax warmer was better suited for me

Tattoo or not it works!
Moisturizing and soothing wax on the skin which I guess is why itâs marketed towards tattoos. Either way the wax works well regardless of tattoos or not. Itâs great for sensitive areas. Works great for a Brazilian this kit was pretty easy to use too.

Used for Brazilian
I haven’t used one of these at home style of microwavable waxing cups in a long time. The last one I used was the Bliss brand and that was at least 4x this price from Sephora. So I didn’t have high hopes how this would perform. However, this wax gets a 5 stars for absolutely no sticking to the skin. You warm the wax and spread a thick layer on, then while the wax is still pliable, pull it off quickly. Make sure to hold the skin taut & to pull in a flat direction, not directly up.This did a decent job and didn’t leave too much wax residue. There is no scent other than the smell of the wax, and it didn’t irritate my skin. I didn’t use the included oil as I prefer natural oils, so I used emu oil on my skin after waxing. I will keep using this one until it is gone. I am pleasantly surprised for the price (I mean, where can you get a Brazilian for less than $12?) There are at least 4-6 uses in this size of cup.
