Better than the Tymo brush for sure!
I purchased the Tymo brush first, tried it twice and sent it back.the price was so much more and not worth the hype on Ticktock. When I went to send it back the lady at the UPS store said they had a lot of them returned. I then saw the Revlon brush for half the price so I ordered it and I absolutely love it! The length of the brush area is longer and so much easier to maneuver then the Tymo brush. I highly recommend the Revlon straightening brush over the other brand for sure! Love love love it.

Gets Hot Quickly
I roller dry my hair, and doing so it leaves roller marks behind. The straightening brush was great in smoothing out the roller marks. After I remove the rollers, I section my hair in two and then used the straightening brush to smooth the hair from the root upto to the bottom curls. It does a wonderful job.

Leaves my hair straight and silky.
I have used several straightening brushes and the difference with this one is that it really makes my hair soft and silky and it is much heavier. Not sure that I like that it’s heavier but it’s definitely better quality than other brushes I have used. It’s easy to use, you just slowly brush your hair as you would a normal brush and this heats your hair and straightens it as it goes. It will depend on what hair type you have and how well this will work for you. I have fine wavy hair and my hair is easily straightened and curled. Some people may need extra products to help them along. For me this worked well all by itself.

Good for a first pass
I have curly, 3C hair and my entire life, when I wanted to flatten my hair, I had to juggle with a flat iron in combination with a comb to get my hair somewhat smooth. This REVLON SmoothStay XL Straightening Brush seems to be meant to replace this system by putting both items in 1. It’s definitely easier to only have one tool in your hand. This straightening brush does work on my hair to get the big curls out; however, I do end up with my hair resembling what they call yaki hair when talking extensions. So, I do still need to do a pass with a straightening iron to get my hair flatter. Overall, I’m happy with this, but to get 5 stars, it would need to completely straighten my hair without the need for an additional tool afterwards.

Since I don’t wash my hair every day but every other one this straightening brush has been great on my no wash days. I like that I can achieve a neater hair style look will little to no effort. I just plug it in and once it heats up just comb my hair with it with a few presses. It left my hair strands looking straighter and less messy. It has 10 temp settings and goes all the way up to 430. I keep it at 350 as that seems the most heat I need for the look I want. It heats up quickly like in less than 45 seconds. It is easy to use. The temp blinks on the screen while it heats up. When the blinking stops the hair brush is ready to use. It automatically recalls the last temp setting you used so no need to fumble around to find your heat preference setting. I like the safety feature of automatic shut off after a hour. Living in Florida the humidity sometimes makes my hair look frizzy but using this tool helps tame my frizz. It also left a silky smooth finish.

When I don’t have time to wash it
As a curly girl, I have to get my head completely drenched to get my curls to form in a natural looking way, and that’s not always possible. At times like that (on the 3rd or 4th day since washing) I can use this brush to create a completely different kind of look than my usual curly hair.
