Pleasantly surprised – great product but chose a lighter shade
First time using Wella colour and I am very pleased with the results. Reading reviews before buying I opted for a lighter shade than what I normally would use and the colour came out perfect. I mixed 1.5oz of 5RG Light Auburn and 0.5 oz of 6R Red Terra Cotta with 20 developer and the coulour came out as beautiful chocolate brown with a hint of red (my natural hair colour is dark brown with plenty of grey). Excellent grey coverage! Was a little freaked out when applied because it turned so dark almost black while processing but washed out great, no stained skin and no bleeding into the towel after a thorough rinse and conditioning. The brands I used previously not only stain the towels but also pillow cases until two washes after. So, no stains was a great bonus. And I didn’t think I was going to like the liquid consistency but it’s actually so much easier to apply and saturate the hair.

Great product works well blended with other shades to make my perfect color
I have been using wella products for years. I am a former hairdresser so I have been doing my own color all these years. I like wella color charm because it delivers a great natural looking color. I use 1 Oz 20 strength Creme developer, with 2/3âs 8RG/729 Titan Red Blondeand last third I divide equally with 4/N 411 medium brown and 5RG/ 445 5 light auburn to achieve the color shown.After I colored my whole head of hair the first time, I only color the new grown in roots from there on. I leave on for 25 minutes. I find that when people color their hair this auburn color at home or rather any red color, it tends to look fake using this one product unless the natural hair is on the dark side. If itâs over white or gray, blonde, well, definitely doesnât read well. With the medium brown added to it, it tones down the fake look. Iâm 68 for reference and yes I do wear makeup and have good skin. But I think because of my realistic looking color and below my shoulder length hairstyle people think Iâm around 55 thereabouts. I will color my hair as my mom did until I canât and she did till she passed at 80. Anyway, great products and so easy to get on Amazon and even cheaper with auto replenish.

Cowboy copper
I have dark brown hair (with previous red box dye over it) and I used Wella 6R and 6RG/544 to achieve a cowboy copper. I didnât want to use bleach on my hair so I used 20 vol Wella Developer and it did lift really well! Maybe not as light, but I love it! It does have a strong odor once opened so ensure you color your hair in a vented area. My hair feels soft. The color is much brighter in the sunlight. The small bottles are perfect for small developer bottles depending how long your hair is. So much cheaper than getting your hair professionally done. Super easy to do with a 2:1 ratio with developer. I love Wella products!

Not purple at all, just red
The dye works well and stays in, but it’s not really burgundy – it’s a deep red color. Also very strong scent.

If you want a dark, cherry, red color, and you already have darker hair, this is perfect. If you want like a lighter raspberry-ish color or pomegranate, then itâs probably gonna look like that, I also got the toner and mixed it in it because I didnât want it to come out brassy and it did not. Itâs beautiful it looks like dark cherry Iâve never had a hair color that came out exactly what it was named and it was really great coverage. If you do color your hair and would like to try this product and make sure you get to developers because they donât tell you that, itâs just we offer professional use well I figured it out! But truly really itâs also easier to put on your head when youâre waiting for it to be on there for however long good stuff and Wela is a great great company. Itâs been around forever.

Light copper – natural red!
This is my favorite red! Iâve attached a pic of my hair prior, Iâve been using this color every 6-8 weeks for over a year and itâs just gotten more vibrant overtime. Iâm constantly asked if Iâm a true redhead, itâs a very believable natural red for me. If you over process it, it will start looking more burgundy toned and less natural so definitely stick with 30-40 minutes. At this point, none of my hair is bleached but it was beautiful on bleached hair as well, faded out to be more of a strawberry blonde. On my natural color with 20 volume developer, this is what I get and it just becomes dull after 6-8 washes (4-5 weeks).

I was ready to give this a 5 star review the day I dyed my hair but I forgot. Now it’s been a month and I’m torn because all of the color is pretty much gone even though it was supposed to permanent. I used 2 bottles of the red terracotta color and the first day the color was deep, shiny and vibrant and I was in love. Everywhere I went people complimented my beautiful hair color. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered 2 more bottles as I wanted to have it on hand when I needed to do the roots. I used the color with 20 developer and waited just over 72 hours after dying before I shampooed and immediately noticed that the color faded but it still looked fantastic. Well it’s faded a little with every shampoo since. Now it’s a month since I dyed and the color appears to be completely gone. I love red hair but I don’t want to have to dye my entire head of hair every month. Since I have 2 more bottles of the same color I’m going to try again and see if it penetrates better the second time.
